When most parents are naming their newborns, they will be curious about how many people in China have the same name, and hope that their newborn’s name will not repeat that of too many people. Or some people simply want to know how many people in the country have the same name as them, so how do they conduct a duplicate name query?
The Ministry of Public Security officially provides an online query system for the number of people with the same name and the same name in the country (see the end of the article for the query URL).
Query method:
Visit the public security agency’s domestic same-name query system guide page and click “Query the number of people with the same name”.
On the pop-up interface, select "Nationwide" and click "Confirm".
At this time, you will jump to a login page. You cannot query without logging in. If you have registered before, you can log in by filling in your mobile phone number or ID number, password, and verification code. If you have not registered before, click "User Registration".
After clicking "User Registration", enter the "Personal Registration" interface and enter personal information as required, such as user name, ID number, mobile phone number, login password, etc. (* is Required fields).
After completing the filling, click "Register".
Then, real-name authentication is required. Only after real-name authentication is completed, the registration is considered successful.
Registration is complete, log in with the account you just registered. After logging in, click "Check the number of people with the same name" mentioned at the beginning of the article to enter the China Duplicate Name Query System.
Fill in the name you want to check, check the gender, fill in the verification code, press OK, and the result will be clear at a glance.
Below is the number of people with the same name across the country who I randomly entered a name.
The domestic population is large, but the number of commonly used words is limited, so the same name is inevitable. A name is just a code for addressing someone. If you choose some uncommon words for the sake of a unique name, it will be like picking up sesame seeds and losing watermelon, and even cause trouble. Try to think about the situation when someone wants to say your name but doesn’t know how to pronounce it, or wants to write your name but doesn’t know how to write it. Therefore, it is not necessary to have absolute non-duplicate names when naming, as long as the names are relatively different, for example, if you don't meet them that often or if you don't have the same name among your acquaintances, it is enough.
