Baby Moses
A Levite married a Levite woman. The woman was pregnant and gave birth to a son. Seeing that he was handsome, she hid him for three months. Later, I couldn't hide any longer, so I took a cattail box, smeared it with stone paint and oil, put the child in, and put the box at the reed harvest by the river. The child's sister stood at a distance, wondering what he was like. Pharaoh's daughter came to the river to take a bath ... When she saw this box during the reed harvest season, she sent a maid to get it. He opened the box and saw the child. The child was crying, so he took pity on him and said it was a Hebrew child. The child's sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, shall I call a wet nurse from among the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you? Pharaoh's daughter said, yes; The virgin went to call the mother of the child. Pharaoh's daughter said to him, "Take this child away and nurse it for me, and I will pay you." : So the woman held the baby in her arms and nursed it. When the child grew up, the woman took him to Pharaoh's daughter and became his son. He named the child Moses, meaning, because I pulled him out of the water. (taken from 2 L l-10)
According to the Bible, Moses' first act was to cry, which was all he could do at that time, and his family was responsible for the rest. His parents worked together, collecting cattails, knitting boxes and coating them with waterproof paint. Miriam is young, but she also has a responsibility. So this God-believing family put the newborn baby on a strange river full of death threats. Nowadays, parents who believe in God can also put their babies in the torrent of modern society, which is more dangerous than before. Our cattail is prayer, through which we can weave a protective shell for our little life. Our stone paint is love, which can form a safety barrier. We trust people like Moses' family, but the Supreme God will accomplish great things for all those who trust him, and even touch the heart of Pharaoh's daughter with Moses' cry: Everything works.
Prince Moses
By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter when he grew up. He would rather suffer with God's people than enjoy the pleasure of sin temporarily. He believes that the humiliation of Christ is more precious than the wealth of Egypt; Because he is eager to get something in return. By faith, he was afraid of the king's anger and left Egypt. Because he persevered, because he saw the invisible Lord. By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled blood, so that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not come near Israel. (Lai 1 1: 24-28)
Obviously, Moses fully seized his opportunity and received a first-class education (Acts 7: 22). So, what a crisis it was when he decided to give up his brilliant future and engage in the work of saving his compatriots. No one thinks that he killed the Egyptians wisely, but it is easy to criticize him for acting rashly. If we were in his position, who would voluntarily give up the prince's throne and become a slave so that God could save his compatriots? His sacrifice was a bit like the Lord Jesus, but he failed. Because actions like Christ need to have the character like Christ, and Moses didn't have it at that time! So, from then on, God began to work on him in a new mode, and made him with pottery, which made him have this character. We don't have to worry about being too stupid and impulsive: if you are willing to entrust yourself to God and serve him, you will be responsible for sanctifying you.
Shepherd Moses Shepherd
Moses grazed the flock of Jethro, the priest of Midian, his father-in-law. One day, he led the sheep into the wild and came to Horie Mountain, the mountain of God. The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses from the flame of thorns. ..... The thorn caught fire, but it didn't burn. Moses said, I want to go over and see this great vision ... When the Lord God saw that he wanted to go over and look, he cried out from among the thorns, Moses, Moses. ..... Don't come near, take off your shoes, because the place where you are standing is sacred; And he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Moses closed his face because he didn't dare to look at God ... I really saw the suffering of my people in Egypt. I also heard their cries. I know their pain. I came down to save them from the hands of the Egyptians and bring them out of that land to a beautiful and vast land flowing with milk and honey, that is, the land of Canaan. I heard the cries of the Israelites and saw how the Egyptians oppressed them. Therefore I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you can bring my people Israel out of Egypt. (one of three L- 10)
When Moses was a prince, he tried to lead God's people with the method he learned from Egypt-tyranny and violence, but he failed: any spiritual leader who tried this method would also fail. Therefore, Moses must learn to be patient. Shepherd is the best way to learn this lesson. Prince Moses finally became the shepherd Moses, a completely different person. After living in the wilderness for forty years, he learned patience, gentleness, sympathy and pity, which made God entrust him with a new mission. Now he feels incompetent, which is also a necessary part of his training. His shepherd's staff became the symbol and secret of God's strength.
Moses was the giver and promulgator of the law.
For six days you must work, and on the seventh day you must rest, even if you are farming and harvesting. When harvesting the first ripe wheat, observe the festival of July 7; At the end of the year, we must observe the collection festival. All your males shall appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel, three times a year. I will drive out foreigners from before you and expand your territory; When you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times a year, no one will covet your land. You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; Passover sacrifices shall not be kept until morning. Send the firstfruits of the earth to the house of the Lord your God. Don't cook goats or lambs with breast milk. And the Lord said to Moses, Write these words, for according to these words I have made a covenant with you and Israel. Moses lived with the Lord for forty days and forty nights ... and the Lord wrote the words of this Covenant, the Ten Commandments, on two tablets of stone. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of testimony in his hand, he did not know his face, and his face shone because the Lord had spoken to him. When Ariel and all Israel saw Moses' shining face, they were afraid to go near him. Moses called them ... and talked to them ... and told them everything the Lord had said to him on Mount Sinai. When Moses had finished talking with them, he covered his face with a veil. ..... When the Israelites saw Moses' face shining, Moses covered his face with a veil, and when he went in to talk with the LORD, he took off the veil again. (34 2 1-35 in total)
God himself gave Moses the law, and time proved that its perfection was impeccable. But not long after Moses accepted the law, he became angry because the people committed crimes and broke the stone tablets engraved with the law: they broke the law, but in fact the standard of this law was too high for the people to reach. Later, he got a rewritten version of the law, which was never broken, but was kept in the ark of God. Therefore, the promulgator of God's law (who can't keep the law himself) got a revelation: a perfect man will come, and he will complete the law according to the Tao and the spirit. Because of this revelation, it is no wonder that his face will glow when he goes down the mountain! He is very happy to see Christ in advance! If believers can see the perfection of the Savior, his face will shine, because the Lord has completely fulfilled the law for him.
Moses, intercessor on August 17.
Moses the intercessor
Moses returned to the Lord and said, "Alas, this people have committed a great sin and made themselves a golden statue. if
Will you forgive their sins, … Otherwise, please erase my name from your book. And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out his name from my book. Now go and lead this people to the place I told you, and my angel will lead the way before you. But on the day I punish them, I will punish them for their sins. (In 32 3l-34)
Who can pray for those who have greatly sinned against themselves, just as Moses prayed for those who have sinned against himself and Ariel? Moses seemed to understand the principle of atonement and knew that the sins of Israel could not be forgiven by sacrifice, so he suggested to God that if the people could not be forgiven by other means, he would ask God to accept him as a sacrifice and blot out his name to eliminate the sins of Israel. God didn't accept his suggestion, because only the Lord Jesus can bear the sins of others, which shows how much Moses is prepared to pay for intercession. The value of our intercession does not depend on the length and words of prayer, but on the depth of our selfless sympathy for others, even those who offend us.
August 18 failed Moses.
Failed Moses
In the first month, all the congregation of Israel came to the wilderness of Zin and lived in Kadesh ... The congregation gathered against Moses and Jalim because there was no water to drink. The people quarreled with Moses, saying, … Why did you bring the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, so that we and our livestock died here? Why did you force us to leave Egypt and bring us to this bad place ... and there was no water to drink? Moses and Ariel left the congregation at the entrance to the tent of meeting and fell on their faces. The glory of the Lord appeared to them. The Lord said to Moses, "Take a staff and go and gather the people and your brother Yalian, and order the rock to spray water before their eyes ..." So Moses and Yalian gathered the people to the rock, and Moses said, "Listen to me, you traitors, shall I make water flow out of this rock for you?" ? Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, and a lot of water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank. And the LORD said to Moses and Jalam, Because you did not believe me and did not … sanctify me, you will … not enter the land I gave you … The name of this water is Meribah, because the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and the LORD was sanctified before them. Moses' self-confidence in serving God deprived him of the highest reward he longed for. One of his most tragic failures in spiritual service is actually related to a great miracle he once walked through. This Moses once calmed people's complaints and made rocks flow out of the water to save them from death, but he was condemned as unholy and lacking in confidence. He lost his temper because of people's provocation. We may think that this matter is only a trivial matter compared with the great miracle he did, but God has a completely different idea. The purpose of severely punishing Moses is to remind Israelis and us that God values patience and humility far more than miracles.
Moses the man of god
Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. No dim eyes, no mental decline. The Israelites mourned for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days ... Joshua, the son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom. Because Moses had laid his hand on his head, the Israelites listened to him and did not raise a prophet like Moses, as the Lord commanded. The Lord knew him face to face. The Lord sent him to perform all kinds of signs and wonders on Pharaoh, all his servants and all his land in the land of Egypt. He showed his mighty hand in the sight of all Israel and did all great and terrible things. (Shen 34 7- 12)
When Moses stood on Mount Nebo, he experienced the greatest disappointment and the greatest victory. Disappointed because his request to enter the promised land was rejected, victorious because he was going to enjoy the unique glory of being buried by God, and later he stood on another high mountain with Jesus Christ, who changed his appearance. He humbly accepted God's severe training and showed his truly great character. He did not shirk the responsibility of failure to the Israelis who angered him: although he was heartbroken because God deprived him of the qualification to enter the land of Canaan, he still surrendered humbly and cared for and promoted his successor Joshua wholeheartedly. Moses is indeed the most Christ-like figure in the Old Testament. He is a real "man of God".

Moses
Marble statue, 235cm high, was created at St. Peter's Cathedral in Vatican City, Rome1513-1516.
/kloc-At the beginning of the 6th century, Pope Julius II longed to build a tomb unique in the world for himself and recruited the famous sculptor Michelangelo to work for him. However, due to the capriciousness of the Pope and the ups and downs of the mausoleum construction, Michelangelo suffered the biggest disappointment in his life. Among the sculptures completed in the mausoleum, the most famous one is the statue of Moses.
Moise (also called MOSCHE) is the greatest prophet. He is the supreme leader of the Jews. He was a soldier, politician, poet, moralist, historian and Hebrew legislator. He personally talked with God and was inspired by him to lead the Hebrews to migrate from Egypt to Palestine and get rid of slave life. When he passed through the Red Sea, there was no water, and crossing the sea was like walking on the ground. He met a high mountain and made way for a road. Biblical records and legends hold that Moses is the most popular prophet among mankind. Michelangelo used Moses when he was young to express himself. Because youth represents an immature era, and old age is a period of decline, only the prime of life can become the leader of the whole nation and the will of God.
Moses' attitude is that of a leader. He held his head high, his eyes were bright, and his right leg was bent, as if to lift his feet and stand up. Teeth clenched tightly, as if to swallow something. Many critics are scrambling to guess which stage of Moses' life this artist represents, but their arguments are not good for us. The horn on Moses' head is also the object of endless debate among knowledgeable art historians. In Latin, the horn is a symbol of "strength" in a sense. Perhaps it is for this reason that Michelangelo adopted this twig, which made Moses' attitude more eccentric, weird and rude.
Moses' eyes were big and beautiful, staring at the front and shining like flames. Short hair, like a figure on the Sistine Chapel; The beard hangs straight like a wave, so long that it needs to be brushed by hand. Arms and hands like those of an old man; Vascular protrusion; But his hands are long and beautiful, completely different from Donatello's. Huge knees seem to be out of place with other parts of the body, that is, the knees and legs that run from Egypt to Palestine. They occupy a quarter of the whole body area.
Moses' clothes are purely imaginary, not for realism, but to meet the needs of modeling. Because of these folds, the strength of the legs is more obvious; The volume of the lower part of the statue has also increased, making the overall foundation more solid.
Moses' general action is simple: this is the characteristic of Florence art in the heyday of the Italian Renaissance, and it is also the style of Roman sculpture, that is, understanding and simplicity.
