Hengyang Normal University (Hengyang Normal University), referred to as "Hengyang Normal University", is located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. It is a public full-time undergraduate college in Hunan Province approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school’s history began with the Hunan Government South Road Normal School founded in 1904. In March 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hengyang Normal College and Hengyang Education College merged to form Hengyang Normal College. In February 2001, Hunan Provincial Third Normal School and Hengyang Normal College merged to form the new Hengyang Normal College.
In 2006, the school passed the Ministry of Education’s undergraduate teaching level evaluation with “excellent” results. In 2013, the school became one of the first universities to be approved for the construction of a collaborative innovation center in Hunan Province (the “Hunan Province 2011 Plan”).
