What is Scone?

English quick bread. Scones are a type of British quick bread originating from England. They are usually round or triangular in shape, soft in texture and golden in appearance. The name Scone comes from a stone with a long history in Scotland called the Stone of Scone. Traditional scones are triangular in shape, mainly made with oats as the main ingredient, and the dough is baked in pancake-shaped mushrooms. Until now, scones are mainly made from flour and baked in ovens. In Europe, Europeans regard scones as the protagonist of afternoon tea and can be eaten with jam and cream.
