Zhu Yuanzhang has three names.
Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang (1162-1227), the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. His real name is Chongba, also known as Xingzong, his courtesy name is Guorui, and he was born in Zhongli, Haozhou.
Zhu Yuanzhang’s ancestral home was in Peixian County, Jiangsu Province, and later moved to Jurong. By the time of his grandfather and father, he moved several times before finally settling in Fengyang, Anhui. Zhu Yuanzhang's ancestor was named Zhongba, and he had three sons. The eldest son was named Liuer, the second son was named Twelve, and the third son was named Bailiu. Bailiu was Zhu Yuanzhang's great ancestor. Zhu Bailiu had two sons, the eldest son was named Siwu and the second son was named Sijiu. Sijiu was Zhu Yuanzhang's great-grandfather. Zhu Sijiu gave birth to four sons, named Chu Yi, Chu Er, Chu San, and Chu Ten. Chu Yi was Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather. Zhu Chuyi had two sons, named Wuyi and Wusi. Wusi (Zhu Shizhen) was Zhu Yuanzhang's father. The uncle and his father each gave birth to four sons, ranked in order of birth. Zhu Wuyi’s sons were named Chongyi, Chonger, Chongsan, and Chongwu; Zhu Wusi’s sons were named Chongsi, Chongliu, Chongqi, and Chongba. Eight is Zhu Yuanzhang (there is a saying that when Zhu Yuanzhang was first born, there were insects crawling on his body (probably roundworms), so his father named him "Insect Pa", and later changed it to Double Eight). Zhu Shizhen's wife Chen Erniang. Zhu Yuanzhang later joined the rebel army and became a marshal. He felt that the name "Chongba" was too rustic, so he changed his name to Yuanzhang.
