Guanzhong is called Guanzhong because it is a country with four blockades, namely, Dasanguan Pass in the west, Hangu Pass in the east, Songguan Pass in the north and Wuguan Pass in the south. In the era of cold weapons, these four passes can be called and while one man guards it and ten thousand cannot force it, which are really impregnable. What makes the ancients value more is that the climate here is mild and humid, with Jing, Wei, Feng, Waterlogging, Chan, Ba, Gao and Orange.

There is a city at the source of Hanshui River, with plain sea in the east, snow-capped mountains and Gobi in the west, grassland desert in the north and forest swamp in the south, so it is also located in the middle of the earth, so it is named Hanzhong, which means the source of Hanshui River, the center of the earth. So Hanzhong's alias is also called Tianhan.
The history of Hanzhong, like the Hanshui River, has been flowing continuously from the misty distance, from the end of high mountains, through the mountains and rivers of Hanzhong, and through thousands of years.
As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Hanzhong was the place where Qin and Chu fought for each other. When Qin Huiwen was king, the State of Qin defeated the State of Chu, and Chu had to make peace, so Qin "took more than 6 miles of land and set it in Hanzhong County". The name "Hanzhong" was first recorded in history.
