The stories of five bridges on the Hun River:
1. The first bridge on the Hun River is a railway bridge. On July 14, 1903, the Nanman Branch of the Dongqing Railway was officially put into operation. This was the earliest railway in Shenyang and also produced the earliest railway bridge across the Hun River in Shenyang. Later, two upstream and downstream bridges were built on both sides of the railway bridge.
2. Hunhe Bridge, also called Qingnian Bridge, is the earliest cement highway bridge. A section of the bridge is preserved on the west side of the new bridge, and there is an inscription on the bridge railing, which records: "In view of the fact that the old bridge over the Hun River was built in the 1940s, it is the largest and longest highway bridge in the province using reinforced concrete structures. It was an important symbol of highway bridge construction in our country at that time, so the city government followed public opinion... and erected a monument to commemorate it."
3. Sanhao Bridge is the bloody work of Mr. Deng Wenzhong and is a local landmark building. Local people described: "Sanhao Bridge is like two huge lily petals, blooming brilliantly in the night sky, and together with the reflection in the river, it seems like a pair of butterfly wings fluttering about to fly." Sanhao Bridge is the world's first steel arch tower cable-stayed bridge and has won the highest global bridge design award.
4. Fumin Bridge connects Hunnan Avenue to the south and Wencui Road to the north. It is named after it connects Fumin Road and Hunnan District. The two leaning towers of Fumin Bridge are like wild geese spreading their wings to rest on the river, and like a pair of powerful giant palms, holding up hope.
5. The Workers' and Peasants' Bridge is a bridge with a story. It connects the workers in the northern city and the farmers in the southern countryside. When it was completed in 1964, it was named Gongnong Bridge and later renamed Nanjing Bridge.
