Why do the names of the Ming Dynasty princes coincide so highly with the periodic table of chemical elements? Let’s take a look at a few examples, such as Zhu Gongxi, Zhu Shenlei, Zhu Tongchromium, Zhu Tongniobium, Zhu Anmercury, Zhu Zaina, Zhu Juntie, and Zhu Chengcobalt. We can see that the last characters of these people’s names are related to the periodic table of chemical elements. So why is this?
In fact, the name of the Ming Dynasty prince does not have a high coincidence rate with chemical elements, but the Chinese version of the chemical element table directly uses the inventions of the Zhu family.
Zhu Yuanzhang set a twenty-digit family hierarchy for each of his sons. For example:
The eldest son Zhu Biao's direct lineage: "Yunwen follows the ancestral precepts, and Qinwu Dajun wins. By the way." It is auspicious, and the teacher is good and makes good use of Sheng."
The fourth son Zhu Di: Gao Zhan Qi Jianyou, Hou Zai Yi Chang You, Ci He Yi Bo Zhong, Jian Jing Di Xian You.
Zhu Yuanzhang took great pains to arrange the seniority of each son's descendants. The original meaning was probably to ensure the relationship between direct descendants and to maintain the rule of Zhu Biao and Zhu Yunwen. Unfortunately, the fourth son, Zhu Di, later became a parent.
Since then, the succession of emperors in the Ming Dynasty has been Gao Zhan, Qi Jianyou, and Houzai Yi Changyou.
Zhu Yuanzhang is a famous workaholic. When he was in power, he not only did his own thing, but also planned it for his descendants. He wanted his descendants to be named according to the radicals of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. So he named his 26 sons with the character for wood next to them, then the grandchildren were named with the character for fire, the great-grandchildren were named with the character for earth, and then the characters for gold and water, and then Cycle after cycle followed by another cycle. I have to admire his foresight, but he didn't think of a problem. Chinese characters are limited, but future generations are unlimited.
When the number of his descendants reached hundreds of thousands, Chinese characters were not enough.
In the beginning, descendants could still be picky about the names, but eventually all the characters were used up. Moreover, names should also be taboo on ancestors, and duplicate names should not be used. This also caused the problem of increasingly difficult naming later. In the end, he was forced to do nothing, because the rules of his ancestors could not be broken. Therefore, the descendants of the Zhu family began to name them casually, as long as they matched the five elements, and some made up their own characters. This is why the names of the descendants of the Zhu family occupy the periodic table of elements. The family population is increasing, and when it comes to choosing names, they can't be the same as their ancestors. So all kinds of rare characters with the radicals of the Five Elements were translated. As a result, many rare characters and even invented characters were included in the "Kangxi Dictionary" and have been passed down ever since.
Later, when the periodic table of elements was introduced to China, Chinese scientists hoped to translate it into Chinese, but for a while they could not find suitable words to translate it. Moreover, translation cannot be so sloppy. After seeing the Zhu family tree, many of them used metal radicals, so I modified them. Most of the periodic tables of elements bear the names of the Zhu family. I have to say, looking at it now, Zhu Yuanzhang is really very wise. Even though his children and grandchildren have passed away, his name still lives on. Some people believe that if Zhu Yuanzhang were alive, he would also laugh loudly. I have to say that this family's naming is really very disciplined, and it is not easy to continue it forever.
