Have you ever seen a floating village in Brunei? A day trip by car will take you to this low-key and mysterious small country.

Apart from Chun Wu's hometown and the Brunei Empire, Brunei, a mysterious and low-key country, is best known. What other attractions do you know?

In fact, the world's largest high-rise floating village is also here in Brunei, and Eier, known as "Venice of the East", is one of Brunei's must-see attractions.

It has a history of more than 65,438+0,300 years and was built by dozens of villages along the Brunei River. The infrastructure here is perfect, including police station, fire station, school, mosque and so on ~

In addition to the water wooden houses with historical traces, due to the recent development, more advanced cement houses have appeared here ~ The main means of transportation here is the water taxi, that is, the boat ~

As I live in Miri Malaysia, which is near Brunei, it takes about two and a half hours by car. Natural tourism to Brunei has become very common.

Sometimes, in order to go to Brunei to eat sushi with Excapade Japanese food, and sometimes in order to transfer back to China, parking at Brunei airport for a few days feels as convenient as visiting a neighbor's house.

During the holidays, I will drive my wife and children to see the house. In addition to filling up the car and preparing simple snacks and water, you have to go through the entry and exit permit and vehicle driving license online in advance when you enter Brunei by land (want to know more specific comments).

In addition, we need to exchange some coins in advance for customs use (entry and exit fees are 3 coins per person), and then we will start our Brunei water town go on road trip ~

Our first stop came to the Floating Village Museum. Although the sparrow is small and complete, although there are several administrators here, they will not explain it to us. Even if you ask them, you will only get a perfunctory attitude ~ it would be better to improve this point a little, otherwise it will be a bit of a waste of this museum ~

Kampong Eier Museum Shuicun Museum

Business hours: 9 am to 5 pm (daily)

Every Friday, 1 1.00am-2.30pm is the Muslim prayer time, so it will be temporarily closed.

There is a tall tower next to the museum. When you come to the top of the mountain, you can overlook the panoramic view of the Brunei River, and you can also see the hotels and shops opposite ~

Come out of the museum and go inside, and you will come to a T-junction. Turn right is the traditional water house, turn left is the modern water house. It's a world of difference ~ I heard from a friend that the Brunei government will give subsidies if I live in a floating house ~

Shuicun, a luxurious semi-independent mansion, is a yacht of its own, but you can't see the garage when you open the door.

After seeing the water house here like a duck to water, we boarded the boat and visited the huge water village by boat instead of walking.

If you want to visit the water town, you can bargain with the boatman. Maybe you can take a trip to Venice in the East at a very low price!

Life here is very new to us. This is the first time we have seen water police stations, water fire stations, water schools and so on.

All the means of transportation here have been replaced by boats, such as fire boats and police boats. Even the school bus has become a school boat here ~

We even had the privilege of visiting the local people's homes. Swinging 90 degrees straight down the wooden ladder in the river made us a little timid, but when I saw my son coming up in three steps and making two steps, I felt I was overthinking it ~ I might as well be my son ~ Haha ~

Only when I arrived here did I know that I could buy iced coffee here to cool off the heat ~ My wife chatted with my boss's wife, only to know that they sold some iced drinks at home, and the boss's wife warmly asked us to visit their house, which satisfied our curiosity ~

The proprietress's house is beautifully decorated and feels like a bride's room. Used a lot of shiny decorations, completely subverting the feeling of the house appearance ~

After a circle, we went straight to our destination, that is, we went deep into the Brunei River to find the long-nosed ape (the favorite of our two sons).

I heard from friends that I wanted to see these animals by luck ~ Before seeing these animals, we were attracted by the well-protected Brunei River. There was no floating garbage on the water, and there were even few boats carrying tourists, which gave us many opportunities to shoot "Land of the Sky" ~

In fact, the Brunei government is very protective of the ecological environment here, and their people are also very concerned about the environment here, so it has not been destroyed ~

Just when we began to feel a little tired of the beautiful scenery in front of us, we began to pray silently, hoping that our luck would be better and we could see the traces of those animals.

Suddenly the boatman slowed down and approached the bank on the left, telling us that we had finally arrived at the gibbon's home and told us not to make any noise ~ Let's look for the long-nosed ape carefully ~

But our eyesight is really not so good that we can't find anything at all. Even though our boat has docked at the mangrove forest on the right hand side, we still can't find it ~ We can barely see their tracks until the boatman points it out to us ~ The tour guide told us that they are thin-skinned and afraid of strangers approaching, so once they notice that someone is too close to them, they will go higher ~

We can only sneak a look at them, so most of my photos are their backs ~ they are very sensitive to the surrounding environment, and a little noise is enough to make them alert and even run away ~ but meeting them is enough ~

The boatman told us that their main food source is the tender leaves of these mangroves, so they tried to attract them with the tender leaves of mangroves and make them slightly close to our ships. Unfortunately, their faces were really too thin, and finally they kept a distance from us strangers ~

The "meeting" with the proboscis monkey was so attractive that it was near evening when the meeting ended. The boatman hurriedly urged us to leave ~ The proboscis monkey can also be seen in Malaysia, and we will take professional equipment to shoot next time.

On the way to Jiadong Night Market, we met the locals who were practicing dragon boat rowing. The boatmen slowed down our boat to prevent the waves from affecting their practice ~ I thought they would only practice at night, but they were still practicing when we came back at night ~

You can also come to the night market by car or on foot. This experience is different. I don't think I've seen anyone go to Gadong Night Market by boat like us. This different experience is also an unexpected surprise ~

On the way through the back garden of the palace, I found another way this time. We passed the back garden of the palace by boat and were lucky enough to see the back of the palace ~

As night fell, we finally arrived at Jiadong Night Market ~ Before landing, we agreed with the boatman to go back to Brunei River to see wild fireflies after eating and drinking, so after about an hour and a half, we had to wait for the boatman to take us back (once again testing the integrity of both sides) ~

Although it is completely dark outside, Jiadong Night Market is still crowded with people. The cries of hawkers, children's frolicking, customers' trading and diners' chewing all make up the symphony staged every day in Jiadong Night Market ~

To tell the truth, although the scale here is not small, it is a little small for me living in Malaysia. After all, Malaysia also has Pasar Malam Ramadan market and night market, which are much bigger than here, and there is a feeling of being dwarfed ~

The taste of Brunei food is very close to that of Malay food in Malaysia. Many snacks look the same as Malaysian snacks, and they taste the same, but they have changed their names ~

Jiadong Night Market Jiadong Night Market:

Address: No.37, Xinbang, bandar seri begawan, Brunei.

Business hours: 3: 00pm-10: 00pm (daily)

After eating, we took the original boat and the boatman to look for fireflies ~ The boatman told us that the fireflies here are all wild and unknown to tourists, so we were the first passengers he took to see them. He also secretly told us that he had no idea that the original passengers would be interested in fireflies, haha ~ (who let the two sons never see it! )

We walked back to the river where we saw the proboscis this afternoon. During the day, we let go of our hearts and enjoyed the beautiful scenery, but at night, we were afraid of crocodiles that came out of nowhere during the day ~

I don't know how long it took or how far it sailed. Finally, the boatman slowly sailed to the mangrove forest on the side. The tour guide asked us to pay attention to where there are fireflies ~ This time we finally found fireflies without the boatman's prompt, and we knew they were playing a chase game by looking at the shiny "small light bulb" ~

There are not as many fireflies here as I saw in China when I was a child, but they are much better than those abroad, and they are all wild. The most important thing is that there is only one boat in the whole river, so we can enjoy ourselves without worrying about obstructing others ~

The boatman's half-day price is about RM 100, which I personally think is quite worthwhile. At least I have seen everything I should see, and there are even many unexpected gains ~

Brunei Empire Hotel) ~ Brunei Empire Hotel is located in Jerudong, 40 minutes' drive from the airport. The hotel covers an area of about 188 hectares. It is a hotel resort integrating hotels, resorts and golf courses ~ It can almost be said that it has attracted many people to visit Brunei (if you are lucky, you can meet the stars who come for vacation _).

This time, I just got a luxury discount from a friend. As soon as I entered the gate, I was dazzled by the magnificent hall. White marble columns support the whole hall. The hall adopts an open design, so that light can directly spill into the room through the glass window, and at the same time, I can enjoy the endless sea view.

This hotel was specially built for the guests of Brunei royal family and kingdom, and now it is also open to tourists. The interior decoration is decorated with gold, artificial beach swimming pool, spacious bathroom/bathtub made of marble, and high-quality afternoon tea in the lounge. Sultans Of Brunei's money is willful, but it's not built!

Because it's too tiring to take photos at night, I'll send you some beautiful pictures during the day!

It is rare to come to this low-key and luxurious country. Even if you don't stay in this hotel, don't miss the experience of one of the most luxurious hotels in the world! You can arrange to have afternoon tea here and take photos to watch the sunset. I feel that this splendid hotel is also good ~

In addition to renting a car, driving by car or chartered car, you can also book the airport shuttle service of the hotel (the fee is BND 35)~

Tips: Tips:

The traffic here is inconvenient, so it is recommended to discuss the return time with the taxi driver.

If you just want to take photos and punch in here, I suggest coming here at night. The sunset here is really beautiful!
