Source of the name:
According to "Dongguan Han Ji", Liu Xiu was born in December of the first year of Jianping (the night of January 15, 5 BC) In the second inner hall of Jiyang Palace, a Han Dynasty palace in the county seat of Jiyang County (in Lankao County). Liu Xiu's father Liu Qin was the magistrate of Jiyang County at the time. This palace was originally built by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Liu Che, also known as the "Jiyang Palace". It has been closed since the death of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Because there was no suitable place for his wife to give birth, Liu Qin didn't care much and let his wife live in the palace. It is said that when Liu Xiu was born, red light shone through the palace. In Jiyang County, Jiahe grew again that year, with nine ears growing from one stem. Liu Qin named the child "Xiu" for this reason. Because he was the third son, he was named "Uncle Wen".
