Li Songwei's Cognitive Thinking (3)

Before class, you can think about these questions:

Have you been particularly happy recently? Or something I'm particularly worried about, or something I'm particularly angry about. Think about one thing and then ask yourself, what am I happy about or worried about? Take me for example, I've been. I've been worried since I took this course. If you ask me what I'm worried about, I'm actually worried about my ability. My ability may limit my play. Let me talk about a good knowledge point, which may be too boring or too simple to convey the essence and make you feel very interested.

Ok, this is my answer, and you? What are you trying to tell me? Enter today's lesson with our answers.

In the last issue, we talked about the concept of automatic thinking, which is a way to quickly judge external stimuli. There may be a discrepancy between him and the facts. Remember the impatient young man in charge in your head? He kept saying that there was something wrong with the report, but he didn't report it casually. He also follows his own rules. What we want to discuss at the moment is what kind of rules this young man has set in our hearts. His rules belong to another level of cognition, called belief. Faith is a certain attitude, rule or assumption about the world that you have formed for a long time.

What do you mean? For example, we will blurt out after seeing the picture below. This is a triangle. This reaction is very fast, and it is automatic thinking. Then we judge that this is a triangle. What is this belief based on? This is the hidden rule in our hearts. When we see these three line segments, we can call them triangles. On this issue, our beliefs may all be the same. Another problem is that everyone's beliefs may be different, and their automated thinking will operate according to different rules.

In this example, please judge such a question now. Do you think people who are willing to take risks will become good firefighters or those who are cautious will become good firefighters? I guess some people will choose people who are willing to take risks, while others will choose people who are cautious. At this moment, your judgment depends on your belief. If your belief is that rescue needs brave people more, and you dare to take certain risks, you will think that people who are willing to take risks are more suitable. If your belief is salvation, you need more rational people. To make a hard choice in such a short time, you will feel that cautious people are more suitable. You see, the same question, because of your different beliefs, will get different answers.

But in life, some people like to hear good news, some people are more sensitive to bad news, some people care about others, some people care more about themselves, some people look for friends, some people look for enemies, some people care more about their work, some people care more about their families, some people want to change the world, and some people have different beliefs about the unchanging places in the world. These different focuses and preferences belong to different beliefs. These letters may come from your parents or from your early growing experience. But you may not know. Because you don't know what you believe yet. In this class, we will take a good look at our privacy. Hidden beliefs. That is, a hidden decision-making system that helps us make many decisions.

Why are you doing this?

New year is like wearing a pair of glasses. The outside world will always be refracted by this pair of glasses when it enters our eyes. This is not a simple pair of glasses. It has its own will. Some information will be filtered out, some information will be enhanced, and some information may be distorted during processing. Are you going to blow it up right away? Damn it! Take off your glasses quickly. I want to see the real world. Let me tell you the bad news first. This pair of glasses can't be taken off. Let's just say you have to wear them to live a normal life. Imagine that you are attending a party and the environment is very noisy. At the same time, dozens of people are talking. These sounds enter your eardrum, but they are very interesting. You can concentrate on talking to one of them with little interference from other sounds, as if you know which sounds are irrelevant. But if you don't have this ability. Think about what will happen. Once you enter this party, you will be overwhelmed by all kinds of voices, unable to write, talk to anyone or even think. Because all voices are equally important to you.

Life is like such a party. She sends you countless messages all the time, which needs your judgment and screening. So you need to use this pair of glasses at any time to help you choose what is important and what can be ignored. This is necessary. But the question is whether you know it or not. It is helping you choose. At the party, you know exactly what it is doing, helping you pay attention to the people you care about and shielding others' information, but in life, do you know what the rules are? If you didn't know he was here. It runs automatically in the background, helping you filter the conversion information, which is very dangerous.

Imagine that an investor, if wearing a pair of glasses, will automatically help her filter out the good news and strengthen the bad news. Or, conversely, filter out the bad news and just watch the news and see what happens. If a person doing scientific research wears a pair of glasses, automatically tell him that this direction is not good and there are risks. Can the predecessor innovate only if the field he has traveled is safe? A person who needs to constantly deal with others in his career, if he wears a pair of glasses, will automatically help him guess how much others don't like him, and will it add a lot of pain to him for no reason? If the wife wears a pair of glasses, she will automatically help him grab the pictures of arguing with her husband and filter out the pictures that her husband cares about. Will it also affect their feelings between husband and wife?

You say, if you wear this pair of glasses all day, how much impact will it have on your life. Since we can't get it off, we should at least take some time to study it and understand its operating logic. Otherwise, your world will probably be limited by it.

You may still be in the fog, and you haven't fully understood the relationship between belief and automatic thinking. Let's play a game to relax first.

Please put up your index finger, raise your arm and look up at your fingers. Point your finger at the ceiling, then slowly rotate clockwise and draw a clockwise picture on the ceiling. Round, very good, please keep this clockwise and continue to rotate. At the same time, slowly, slowly move your arm vertically up and down, and let your fingertips fall, first through your head, then through your eyes and nose. This process keeps him spinning, and then slowly falls to your chin, your chest. Now please look down at the trajectory of your finger. Do you see it? He unconsciously turned counterclockwise.

Isn't it amazing? If it's not done yet, pause the audio first. You are so clever that you may soon find out where the secret is. The direction of finger rotation has never changed. It used to be clockwise, because it looked from the bottom up and then fell to the level of your chest. You become a top-down view, and what you see is counterclockwise. To put it bluntly, it is equivalent to finding the back from the front of this circle, and the rotation you observe will be reversed. Is it childish? At first glance, it's amazing, and the principle behind it is super simple.

But the most interesting thing about this game is that when many people play it for the first time, they can't help but say, what has changed? Has it changed? The direction of my finger rotation has changed, but the wrong direction has not changed, so the name you gave it has changed. You used to call it clockwise, but now it's still it. If you look at it from another angle, it's called counterclockwise. The different names you gave it are the automatic thinking we talked about last class, and the beliefs you talked about this class are the angles you gave it and the directions you observed.

In my understanding, we often say that cognitive upgrading means jumping to a higher level, observing the process and recognizing cognition clearly. You don't need to take off your glasses or change them. You just need to start studying this pair of glasses and realize its unique advantages and limitations until you receive, filter, enhance or weaken any information through this pair of glasses. You can't choose this refracted world until you see these glasses.

Now please try to ask yourself 13 questions:

1, when an accident happens, do I prefer to regard it as a good thing or a bad thing?

2. When you are unhappy, do you tend to reflect on your own problems or find someone else's responsibility?

If I achieve something, do I think it is because I am excellent or because I am lucky?

4. If I feel good, am I more talented in this skill or do I work harder the day after tomorrow?

5. I believe when others praise me. Are they from the heart?

6. Do I care more about those who praise me or follow those who have opinions on me?

Will a complete stranger be kind to me when he sees me, or will he be wary?

8. Think about my peers. Am I their competitor or partner?

9. Am I more willing to challenge risks or prefer a stable life?

10, a project has a good development momentum. I think it will get better in the future. Or is it prosperous and declining?

1 1, am I willing to accept my present state? Still have a lot of dissatisfaction with yourself?

12, I believe that people can change? Or a leopard cannot change his spots?

13, generally speaking, will the future be better than today? Or worse?

Find a blank sheet of paper and write down your answers. It should be noted that there is no good or bad choice for each question, but please remember your choice. These are the eyes you use to see the world.

Finally, go back to the question at the beginning of the course again, recall a point that made us happy or angry and worried recently, and look at your answer with our knowledge today. Do you feel a little different now? At least you understand that when you have an emotional reaction to the outside world, do you think your reaction is aimed at the world? No, that reaction is caused by a special pair of glasses you are wearing. So it has nothing to do with the world, and it has a lot to do with you. I will realize that I have a pair of glasses, but I don't think I can say it well. I tend to underestimate my ability, while emphasizing your negative feedback and feedback that is not interested in me. This is one of my characteristics. Seeing this, I will feel that worry itself is not that important. This is just a piece of information that I use to know myself. How much have you learned from your own problems?

You can leave a message and write down your thoughts, or you can bring your answers to the next class, and we will see more possibilities.
