Collect people trapped by depression on Weibo,

Take photos for them and record their stories for free.

Most of the participants are girls.

So far, he has photographed more than 1 depressed girls.

Most of the subjects were born after 9 s and s, and the youngest was born in 24.

Most of them were injured in childhood or youth, and

Their parents neglected to care about their mental health.

In the future, I hope more people of different ages and genders can participate in this project.

He said, I want to really encourage everyone to face themselves.

This is a sexual problem. ?

This series of photos received enthusiastic attention and support from netizens, and

were exhibited in Sanying Hall in Xiamen and Grand Palace in Paris.

toothache said that he never thought he could shoot for so long.

For him who has been suffering from depression since high school,

the initial starting point was to express himself, and later,

gradually became a kind of mutual help, sustenance and companionship. ?

One met a toothache in Hangzhou, and

talked about him and 1 girls under his lens.

The 1th girl

This girl's name is Fang Ya, from Nanjing, and she is 23 years old. She suffered from depression in the year of her grandfather's death, when she was a freshman.

She was brought up by her grandfather. My parents are doing business in another city, but they only brought their younger brother with them. In Fang Fang's view, they are a regular family of three, and they are the one who is alone.

in 213, grandpa died suddenly. She began to live at home alone, go to school, eat and live alone.

She may only meet her parents a few times a year, and there is little communication after meeting. She remembers her younger brother's puppy love at that time, and her parents would make fun of him. They never care about the things in her life, but only give her living expenses every month.

In high school, all the classmates said that they admired her and said that she was the richest person in the class. However, when she saw that others had come to pick them up after the evening self-study, everyone in other people's families attended the parent-teacher meeting, only herself, always alone.

At the worst of her illness, she had 1 electroconvulsive treatments in a month and a half. She said that it felt a bit like deleting people's memories in science fiction movies, and the whole person became very empty.

One week before the operation, she was very excited because of taking medicine, so she said all over the social network that she wanted to have the operation. She told me that at that time, I really hoped that someone could write to me privately or call me to ask me what was wrong. ? Now that I think about it, she feels particularly ashamed.

Her parents actually know about her illness, but they don't take it to heart, and they don't quite understand what depression is, thinking that they will be fine just like a cold.

When we filmed this year, the teeth were in good condition and stable. But this made her very afraid, fearing that the collapse would find herself again sooner or later.

This is also the reason why she applied to participate in the filming of "Wrinkled Fog" and wanted to record her current status. She said something that touched me? This way, when I have a breakdown next time, I can remember that I have been sober and I have been better. ?

Fang Ya is the 1th girl I photographed. I have been filming the project "Wrinkled Fog" for 3 years, and I have met too many young people who are trapped in depression like Fang Ya.

The starting point is myself.

The starting point for photographing depressed people is actually myself.

I was diagnosed with depression in high school.

I yearned for being a soldier in the third year of senior high school, but I didn't get it because of my physical reasons. Later, I wanted to study physical education, but my parents felt that there was no future, so they wouldn't let me go, forcing me to study for another year as a senior. At that time, I felt suffocated every day and I was not interested in anything.

One day, I thought it was a kind of morbid condition, so I went to see a psychologist behind my parents' back.

I remember that the doctor was surprised to see me at that time, because in my hometown of Shanxi, everyone had no awareness of mental health, let alone minors.

at that time, I was only slightly depressed, so I used my pocket money to buy medicine and took medicine myself until I went to college.

it wasn't until these years that I began to talk to my family slowly, but they just said that they knew about it and didn't take it too seriously. They thought that I was under a little pressure at most and would gradually get better.

Toothache talks about the public's misunderstanding of depression

Like my family, there are still many misunderstandings about depression.

So when my depression recurs in 217, I want to show this emotion seriously? It hangs over you like a fog, and you can't get rid of it, but it's unpredictable, sometimes and sometimes. I named this project "Wrinkled Fog".

From the very beginning, I made a public solicitation on Weibo, and more than 3 people contacted me one after another. So far, I have photographed more than 1 people who are trapped by depression.

On the surface, the girls who came to see me were very happy.

In fact, I didn't limit my age and gender when I was recruiting, but almost all the girls who came to see me were young women. The oldest is over 3 years old, the youngest was born in 24, and most of them were born after 9 s and s.

This group is most willing to show themselves and express themselves. In my opinion, this state is good. Because we can only come out slowly if we face this problem directly and are willing to communicate.

Toothache and girls' first sight

Most of these girls are moderately depressed, and there are many severe ones, but when they come to see me, they all look very happy on the surface.

They want others to think that they are doing well, and they never take the initiative to say that they are depressed. There are other reasons besides thinking that others will not understand.

A girl who impressed me deeply, Xiao Yi, sat alone in a hard seat for more than ten hours and went to Wuhan from Shijiazhuang to find me to shoot. Only my sister and grandmother took care of her since she was a child, but she didn't tell anyone after she got sick. She said that her sister was married and her grandmother was in poor health and didn't want to give them any trouble.

when shooting, I always chat with them first, and sometimes I shoot while chatting, hoping to show their truest appearance and record their truest emotions.

Macey came to me from Hainan in 218 to take a photo. At that time, she was telling her own story, and then she couldn't help crying. So I took this photo. She studied psychology herself, but she still couldn't heal herself.

This photo of Rarity, I let her release her emotions in her own living space, regardless of the camera, and I'll take a snapshot.

What is the cause of depression?

I have photographed depressed girls who have been young for so many years, and I think most of their sexual problems are family of origin.

the first is the divorce of parents. Many parents keep secrets from their children after divorce, until the children find out one day, which will be a great blow. There is also a new family after parents divorce, and there will be less concern for their children.

This girl Annie, her parents divorced because her father cheated on her and brought her cheating partner home. Often her parents leave after quarreling in the middle of the night, leaving her alone at home.

Once a thief turned in, so she hid there and didn't dare to speak. Later, she told her mother that her mother only replied that it would be nice to lock the window next time. ?

The second is domestic violence. Gege's father is a civil servant. He looks like a nice guy outside, but he will beat her and her mother when he gets home. She said that her greatest ideal in life is to have a house of her own, a safe place for her.

She began to be depressed in high school, but in their small county, no one cares about it, so she has never been treated.

The third is infringement. When I filmed Fly in 218, she was still in high school. She was harassed and violated by her relatives since she was a child, but her parents never cared about this problem.

She is extremely insecure and always feels that others are spying on her and trying to do something to her. So when shooting, I put several humanoid models in raincoats around her, and she looked at the camera helplessly in the middle.

Besides family of origin, emotional experience is also an important factor.

The most common thing is that boys cheat, which happened to the first girl I photographed. She has been with her ex for a long time, living together all the time and relying on him very much. I asked her to write some words she wanted to express on paper and wrap her body, which was a kind of venting.

The girl letter that was shot recently was also in college because she found out that her boyfriend was having an affair with someone else and wanted to break up. As a result, the boy blocked her door every day and harassed her, which made her very hurt.

There is also the body trouble and verbal violence.

Eiko is a student in my photography class. She has always felt inferior because of her figure. I usually wear a mask and don't talk to others, often alone.

One day, she suddenly told me that she wanted to take part in the filming, saying that she was crying while watching the photos I took at home, and she felt very touched and wanted to show herself bravely.

Linlin is a model now, but she was fat before and was laughed at by others on campus. A boy she used to like told her that you like me, which makes me feel embarrassed.

In the photo, I let her cover her ears, and in the environment wrapped in plastic sheets, I want her to shield some external sounds.

Most of these girls were injured in childhood or youth, and the shadow left behind has always followed them. Because in the process of growing up, no one helped them and asked them what they were thinking.

In filming this series, I not only want to let the public know about depression, but also want some parents to reflect on their lack of psychological education for their children.

The Wrinkled Fog was exhibited in Xiamen Sanying Hall

Mutual assistance, sustenance and companionship

From 217 to 22, I actually never thought I could shoot it for so long.

In the future, I really hope that more people of different ages and sexes can participate in this project to encourage more people to face their emotions directly, because this is a * * * problem.

There are some girls who send me messages when they are in the most difficult time, saying that I can't stand the toothache. I said you must stick to it, because we haven't filmed yet, which is a great sustenance for them.

Many girls I have photographed will take my photos as their heads. When I do an exhibition, they can still see some of their own state at the scene, and I think this is also a longer-term companionship.

I keep in touch with most people. Sometimes I brush their circle of friends and see that most of them are developing in a positive direction and want to get out of it, which is actually an encouragement for me.

our help is mutual. They are still insisting, and I will continue to shoot.

Ren Ke, the founder of the Depression Research Institute and the author of Your First Self-help Guide for Depression

Ren Ke suffered from domestic violence since childhood, and was diagnosed with severe depression and moderate to severe anxiety in early 218. After the diagnosis, not only did she not get the understanding and support of her family, but she was also scolded by her father that having a daughter like you was the biggest shame in my life? .

During those days, her friends' constant concern and encouragement gave her hope. She started by sharing her diary of depression recovery, and slowly established the Depression Research Institute? This community of depressed patients focuses on mental and psychological education.

One chatted with Ren Ke about the current situation of depression in China and some basic self-help knowledge. The following is a selection of interviews.

Q: A: Any

Q: What is the general situation of depression in China at present?

A: according to the data of the world health organization, the number of patients with depression in China has reached 9 million, and the incidence rate is as high as 5% ~ 6%, and it has been increasing year by year in recent years. Due to the lack of medical resources in the field of mental health, the recognition rate of mental health diseases such as depression is only 21%. Nearly 8% of patients with depression have not been found? At the same time, 9% of patients with depression have not received professional treatment. This is related to the lack of professional psychiatry in many towns and the relatively expensive treatment cost of depression.

According to our latest survey in 22, 72% of the patients were diagnosed before the age of 25, and most of them developed depressive symptoms after puberty. The lifetime prevalence rate of adolescent depression has reached 15-2%.

Q: what are the main causes of depression? What are the main symptoms of depression?

A: There are many factors leading to depression, which vary from person to person. Under normal circumstances, the causes of minors will be more concentrated and easy to judge. But regardless of age, family-related problems are the primary cause of patients' self-admission. Emotional problems and traumatic experiences are also common sources of depression.

every patient may have different symptoms, but the main symptoms are long-term, persistent and stable depression, loss of interest or pleasure in activities that he is interested in on weekdays, lack of energy, and some additional symptoms such as inferiority complex and unreasonable self-blame. Teenagers aged 13-19 are prone to extreme behaviors, negative attitudes and refusal to communicate.

Q: Does depression affect patients' work and life?

A: according to our big data survey, most patients say that it is difficult to continue working and life becomes unstable, which is the biggest thing that affects them. Because cognitive dysfunction widely exists in patients with depression, especially executive and attention dysfunction.

A large part of the underage patients we contacted were forced to drop out of school. Because of the long course of depression and easy recurrence, they may not be able to continue their studies and return to normal life for several years.

Q: why do many patients with depression choose to hide their illness?

A: when investigating why patients are unwilling to talk, we find that we are afraid of others' incomprehension? Worried about discrimination? It is still an important reason why patients can't speak. Therefore, in addition to the correct knowledge of disease science and scientific treatment, the public *
