Among the beautiful mountains beside the West Lake in Hangzhou, there is Shifeng Mountain, with verdant trees, green tea gardens, and nine winding streams and eighteen streams. In the meantime, the gurgling water, shrouded clouds, deep soil, mild climate, and unique ecological environment breed the world-renowned "Four Unique" teas - West Lake Shifeng Longjing Tea. In front of the Hu Gong Temple at the foot of Shifeng Mountain, there are "Eighteen Imperial Tea Trees" surrounded by railings. Carefully cultivated by local tea farmers, they have grown into luxuriant branches and luxuriant leaves, attracting many tourists every year.
Speaking of these 18 imperial tea trees, there is a beautiful legend. It is said that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the grain was plentiful and the country was peaceful and the people were peaceful. Emperor Qianlong did not like to sit in the palace, but preferred to travel around the world. Once, he came to Hangzhou. After enjoying the scenery of the West Lake and the mountains, he wanted to see his favorite tea. Qianlong told the eunuch that this was very busy for local officials, big and small, and also for the old monks at Hu Gong Temple, because according to the arrangement, Qianlong had to rest and drink tea in the temple.
The next day, Qianlong led his entourage on a tour of Shifeng Mountain. Along the way, he saw the towering Lion Peak, the clear Longjing spring water, the green tea gardens, the village girls carrying tea baskets on their shoulders, busy picking tea in the gardens, the birds chirping and the fragrance of flowers everywhere on the trees and the roads, Qianlong was deeply fascinated by the scenery of nature. Intoxicated, he wandered in the mountains for a long time. At the urging of the eunuch, he finally came to Hu Gong Temple. The old monk respectfully offered the best tea. Qianlong looked at the cup of tea. The tea was green in color and the buds were upright and lifelike. It was really beautiful. After sipping, he could only feel the fragrance, the aftertaste was sweet, and his teeth and cheeks were fragrant. Then he asked the monk: "What is the name of this tea? How to grow it?" The monk said: "This is the treasure of West Lake Longjing tea - Shifeng Longjing. It is fried from the buds picked from the tea garden on Shifeng Mountain. "Then he accompanied Qianlong to watch the tea harvesting. Qianlong was moved by the labor and skill of Longjing tea harvesting. He once wrote a tea song praising: "There are steps to slow frying and fine roasting, and it takes a lot of hard work."
After looking at the harvesting situation, Qianlong returned to the temple and saw more than ten tea trees in front of the temple. The buds were all sprouting and the tongues were beginning to spread. He felt happy, so he rolled up his sleeves and imitated the village girls to pick tea. . When his interest was peaking, a eunuch suddenly came to report: "The Empress Dowager is ill. Please return to the capital as soon as possible." When Qianlong heard this, he was anxious, so he put the picked tea buds into his sleeve and quickly returned to the capital. . When I returned to the palace a few days ago, I saw the Queen Mother sitting by the bed and hurriedly came forward to say hello. The Queen Mother was not seriously ill, but after eating too much delicacies, her anger increased and her eyes were red and swollen. Now that the Emperor had returned to the court, she felt happy and her illness had gone away a bit. She then asked about the Emperor's situation outside. As they talked, the Queen Mother smelled There seemed to be waves of fragrance rushing towards him, so he asked Qianlong: "What good things did the emperor bring from Hangzhou? Such a fragrance?" Qianlong thought to himself, I rushed back in a hurry, but I forgot to bring some gifts to show my filial piety to my mother, and then smelled carefully There was indeed a fragrance coming out. He touched it with his hand and remembered that it was a handful of tea leaves picked from Shifeng Peak. After a few days, they had dried. While taking out the tea leaves, he replied: "Mother, this is the Longjing tea from Shifeng Mountain that I picked with my own hands." "Oh, this tea is so fragrant. I have had a tasteless taste in my mouth these days. Come and brew it for me to try!" Qianlong hurriedly asked the palace maid to brew it. After getting a cup, the Queen Mother took the fragrant tea and drank it slowly. Strangely enough, the Queen Mother felt particularly comfortable after drinking the tea soup. In fact, firstly, this tea is of good quality, fragrant and delicious, and can relieve tiredness and digestion; secondly, when I see the emperor, I feel happy, and the tea leaves are picked by the emperor himself, so after drinking it for several days, my anger is calmed down and my jealousy subsides. , the stomach and intestines were also comfortable, and the Queen Mother happily told the emperor: "My son, this is fairy tea. It is like a panacea. It can also cure my mother's illness!" Qianlong laughed loudly after hearing this, and hurriedly passed on the decree. The tea tree in front of Hugong Temple was designated as the imperial tea tree, and a special person was assigned to take care of it. Every year, the tea tree was collected and sent to the capital for the enjoyment of the Queen Mother. Because there were only eighteen tea trees in front of Hu Gong Temple, from then on, it was called "Eighteen Imperial Tea Trees."

Dongding Oolong is The treasure of oolong tea produced in Taiwan Province is called sister tea together with Baozhong tea. Its preparation method is similar to Qingxin Oolong, but the taste is more mellow, the throat rhyme is strong, and the aroma is particularly strong. Because it is produced on Dongding Mountain, it is named Dongding Oolong.
Dongding Mountain is a branch of Phoenix Mountain in Taiwan Province, with an altitude of more than 700 meters and an average monthly temperature of about 20°C. Therefore, Dongding Oolong is not caused by the severe cold and freezing climate, so why is it called "frozen" Where is the "top"?
It is said that because this mountain range is foggy and rainy, and the steep mountain roads are dangerous and difficult to walk, people who go up the mountain have to tighten their toes. In Taiwan, it is called "frozen toes" before they can go up the mountain. Therefore, this The mountain is called frozen top mountain. It is said that more than 100 years ago, in Lugu Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, there lived a diligent and studious young man named Lin Fengchi. He was knowledgeable, physically fit and ambitious, and he loved his motherland very much. He can't remember which year it was, but he heard that Fujian Province was going to hold an imperial examination and wanted to try. However, his family was poor and lacked travel expenses, so he couldn't make the trip.
The villagers liked Lin Fengchi for being upright, knowledgeable, ambitious and ambitious. When they learned that he wanted to go to Fujian to take the exam, they made an appointment and came to him and said, "Fengchi, it's a good thing that you want to take the exam." I go, if you have any difficulties, everyone will help you, don’t worry, just get ready!" After that, everyone donated generously and collected enough travel expenses for Lin Fengchi. Lin was extremely grateful and said goodbye to his fellow villagers on the third day and hit the road. Before leaving, the villagers went to the beach to see him off, and kept telling them: "I wish you a safe journey, and be more careful on the road!" No matter how you do in the exam, you have to come back! "Don't forget your hometown and fellow villagers, we are looking forward to your return!" Lin Fengchi was moved to tears and secretly determined to win glory for the fellow villagers.
Soon after, Lin Fengchi was admitted to the imperial examination and took office in the county government. One day, Lin Fengchi decided to go back to Taiwan to visit relatives and invited his colleagues to visit Wuyi Mountain together before returning to Taiwan. When I went up the mountain, I saw that "Wuyi's mountains and rivers are amazing in the world, and the thousands of peaks and valleys are all beautiful." There are many tea trees growing among the rocks on the mountain. I also heard that the young leaves on the trees are made into oolong tea, which has a high fragrance and mellow taste, and long-term consumption can improve eyesight. , refreshing; diuretic, anti-greasy, stomachic, body-building and other effects, I thought it would be great to take some back to Taiwan, so I bought 36 tea seedlings from local tea farmers, carefully wrapped them in soil, and brought them to Nantou County in Taiwan. The villagers were overjoyed to see Fengchi return home in fine clothes, and were particularly excited to see him bring oolong tea seedlings inherited from his ancestors in Fujian. They recommended several experienced farmers to carefully plant 36 tea seedlings on the highest frozen hill nearby. On the top of the mountain, special personnel are assigned to carefully manage it. In addition, Taiwan’s climate is mild, so the tea seedlings are thriving and sprouting green buds, which is very cute. Then, people followed the method introduced by Lin Fengchi to pick the buds and leaves and process them into oolong tea. This tea is strange to say. It is picked on the mountain, and you can smell the fragrance at the bottom of the mountain. It tastes fragrant and delicious, mellow and sweet, with a strange smell. It has become a leader in oolong tea with unique charm. This is the name of "frozen top oolong" in Taiwan Province today. origin.

A long time ago, there was a legend in China that "Shen Nong tasted hundreds of herbs, encountered seventy-two poisons every day, and got tea to cure them." It is said that Shen Nong had a crystal-clear belly, and people could clearly see whatever he ate through his gastrointestinal tract. At that time, people ate everything alive, so they often fell ill. In order to relieve people's suffering, Shen Nong tried all the plants he saw to see the changes in the plants in his stomach and judge which ones were non-toxic and which ones were poisonous. When he tasted the young leaves of an evergreen tree with white flowers, they washed them everywhere in his stomach from top to bottom, bottom to top, as if checking something, so he called this green leaf: " check". Later, people called "cha" "tea". Shennong spent many years climbing mountains and wading in rivers, trying various herbs, and was poisoned several times a day. He relied on tea to save him. But the last time, Shen Nong had no time to eat the tea and was poisoned by poisonous weeds. It is said that at that time he saw a grass with small yellow flowers, and the calyx was opening and closing. He was curious, so he put the leaves in his mouth and chewed them slowly. After a while, he felt uncomfortable in his stomach. Before he had time to drink the tea, his intestines were broken off section by section. It turned out that he was poisoned by the poison of gallbladder. In order to respect and commemorate the achievements of the inventors of agriculture and medicine, later generations have passed down this story from generation to generation.

People who visit Wuyi Mountain in Chong'an County, Fujian Province are all excited to see the Dahongpao, but it is not easy to see the Dahongpao tea tree because Dahongpao grows in Jiulong Nest near Tianxin Rock in Wuyi Mountain. The terrain is steep and can only be reached by people who are not afraid of hardships.
Dahongpao grows on a small piece of tea land among the towering rocks on the mountain wall. There are only a few tea trees, some protruding from the rocks and some scattered among them. The three characters "Dahongpao" are engraved on the rock wall next to the ground. There is a mountain spring on the cliff, gurgling down all year round. Looking at the appearance of the tea bushes, they are similar to Lai tea. The leaves are slightly thicker and the buds are slightly red. Although the appearance is not unique, the "Dahongpao" tea harvested from it is the ultimate crystal among Wuyi rock teas. It is not only fragrant but also fragrant. Gao Junyong, and his "rock rhyme" is particularly strong, and has long been famous at home and abroad. Since the yield is very small, every year when spring falls and the buds sprout, wealthy families rush to buy them first to get them first.
How did Dahongpao grow among the rocks? Who discovered and used it? Why does this kind of oolong tea have the reputation of "Dahongpao"? In this regard, this is widely circulated in Wuyi Mountains Three wonderful and moving legends.
A long time ago, there lived an old woman over fifty years old in Huiwan Village at the northern foot of Wuyi Mountain. Her husband died early, she was childless, and she was alone. She depended on cutting firewood, growing crops and helping fellow villagers. They make a living by sewing. She is diligent, kind and helpful, and is a good person known throughout the village. People didn't know her last name, so they all affectionately called her "Grandma Qin."
One year, Wuyi Mountain suffered an unprecedented severe drought. The vegetation on the mountain withered and turned yellow, the crops in the fields died of drought, and the springs among the rocks dried up... People had no choice but to climb mountains and climb mountains, peel tree bark, dig out grass roots, dig Guanyin soil, etc. to satisfy their hunger. Their stomachs became more and more bloated and their faces became more and more yellow. On this day, Grandma Qin came back from collecting wild vegetables from far away in the mountains. She was hungry, thirsty and tired. She put down her basket, took out the fresh leaves she had just picked from the tree, and sat in front of the stove to make a bowl of soup. She put the young leaves into the pot, added water and started the fire to boil. While cooking, she thought: "This little wild vegetable is hard to come by, so I have to save it. How will I live in these hard days in the future!" Water When it boiled, Granny Qin scooped out a bowl and was about to drink it when she suddenly heard painful moans coming from outside the door. Granny Qin hurriedly put down the soup bowl and went out to see a white man sitting on the stone pier. The old man was breathing heavily with difficulty. She went over and hurriedly helped the old man into the house. The old man's open lips were cracked with gashes, and some of them were bleeding. Grandma Qin felt sad. Without thinking, she picked up the freshly cooked leaf soup and gave it to the old man's hand, saying: "It's so early in the year." "There's nothing delicious. Let's drink this bowl of leaf soup while it's hot!" The old man took the soup bowl gratefully and drank it all in a few sips. His breath suddenly got better and he felt more energetic. The old man handed over the bowl. Asked: "Is there any more? Give him another bowl." Granny Qin poured him another bowl without hesitation. After drinking, the old man smiled and raised the faucet crutch in his hand and said to Granny Qin: "Good-hearted woman Ah, you saved me. I have nothing to repay you, so I’ll give you this dragon-headed crutch!" As he said this, he handed the crutch to Grandma Qin, but she saw that the crutch was shiny and shiny, and the dragon head still held a pill in its mouth. Beads, Granny Qin thought to herself, no matter whether the beads were real or fake, they were still precious given their fine workmanship. How could a bowl of leaf soup be a gift for the family, so she refused and the old man took out two more seeds from his pocket. He handed it to Granny Qin and said, "I wish you well. I'll give you two more seeds. You can use your crutch to dig a hole in the ground, scatter the seeds, cover it with soil, water it, and then lean your crutch against the tree. It will bring you happiness!" After saying that, he felt a gust of fragrant wind blowing around him, and the old man rose from the ground and floated away in the air. Grandma Qin was stunned. She thought she had met a god. So she dubiously followed the old man's instructions, dug a hole in the yard, sowed the seeds and watered them. Within a few days, a green seedling was unearthed. Yes, it turned out to be a tea tree. Strangely enough, when I put the crutch against the seedling, the tea tree seemed to be absorbing water and nutrients from the crutch. It actually grew wildly and soon turned into a strong and leafy tea bush. There are clusters of new shoots on the trees, and the spring breeze blows with wisps of fragrance, attracting birds in the village, butterflies and bees by the stream, and also attracting men, women and children in and outside the village.
Grandma Qin was very happy, gathering buds and leaves, processing oolong, and boiling a large pot of thick tea soup to distribute to the villagers. It is strange to say that the new shoots of the tea tree are clustered in clusters, and they grow as they are picked; the tea soup tastes refreshing and refreshing, and it makes me feel refreshed and refreshed. The pain in my heart no longer hurts, and the swelling in my stomach gradually subsides. People were surprised and called this tea bush "magic tea", and everyone happily danced around the tea bush and Granny Qin.
There is no airtight wall in the world, and the matter soon reached the emperor.
The emperor was a greedy and ruthless man. In his eyes, all the celestial beings, flowers and rare treasures in the world had to be named "Emperor", and the divine tea was no exception. So he sent his ministers and soldiers to snatch the sacred tea bush, planted it in the imperial garden, and summoned all civil and military officials to hold a grand meeting. Amidst the sound of drums, the emperor rolled up his sleeves and stretched out his pale pointed fingers to pick tea himself. Unexpectedly, the tea tree kept growing upwards, as if deliberately teasing others, and the emperor crossed his legs. Standing on the bench and climbing up the ladder... the tea tree kept growing and growing, and it always grew much taller than the emperor. The emperor was furious and ordered the tea tree to be cut down and eradicated by the roots.
Besides, after the sacred tea was robbed, Granny Qin cried like a baby. She believed that she was a guilty person for failing to take good care of the tea bushes given by the gods, so she apologized to the gods every day. Asking the gods to bless her with divine tea, her hair turned white from worry, her eyes became red from crying, and she finally fell ill. One day, while she was sleeping in bed, she suddenly heard a magpie chirping at the window, so she went out on crutches to see what was going on. She saw a few men walking over carrying a tree root. She took a closer look. Isn't this the sacred tea? It turned out that a kindhearted person had brought back the sacred tea root that had been discarded by the palace. This joy was not trivial, and Qin's mother-in-law's worries disappeared. Her eyes became clear and her illness disappeared. She ran over and stroked the tea branch, smiled, and said kindly: "God Tea, God Tea, I'm sorry for you! I'm a poor person, and I don't have the blessing to receive your gift. You'd better leave, they'll come and kill you if you stay here." After that, he leaned the dragon head crutch against the tree trunk. Unexpectedly, the leading crutch suddenly turned into a red cloud, carrying the bunch of sacred tea in three circles over the yard, as if thanking Grandma Qin, and also reluctant to leave the local folks, and then slowly flew away. This red cloud It passed by Huiwan Rock, drifted through Liuxiang Stream, flew into the Nine Dragon Nest, and landed among the rocks halfway up the mountain. When people went to see it again the next year, the tea tree had sprouted new shoots and was lovely green. There was another clear spring trickling down the rock wall, just like the fairy water dripping from the night pearl on the white-haired old man's faucet and crutch. The reason why the white-haired old man wanted the tea tree to take root on the Half-Tian Yao Rock in Jiulong Cave was because it was a "treasure land" and there was no way up the mountain at that time. Only those who were brave, hard-working and strong-willed could climb such a cliff to pick the sacred tea. Only these people are worthy of happiness and joy.
Later, the tea tree sprouted and grew into three clusters. This is the origin of the first three "Dahongpao" trees.
1. The legend of Shennong tasting tea
A long time ago, there was a legend in China that "Shennong tasted a hundred herbs, encountered seventy-two poisons every day, and got tea to cure them." It is said that Shen Nong had a crystal-clear belly, and people could clearly see whatever he ate from his gastrointestinal tract. At that time, people ate everything alive, so they often fell ill. 2. The legend of Lu Yu’s tea
Emperor Li Yu of the Tang Dynasty liked to drink tea, and there were often people who were good at tea tasting in the palace. Once, monk Ji Gong from Jingling (now Tianmen, Hubei) was summoned to the palace. The master of sencha in the palace made a bowl of tea with the finest tea leaves and asked Ji Gong to taste it. Ji Gong took a sip and would not take another sip. The emperor asked him why he didn't drink it. Ji Gong said: "The tea I drink was fried for me by my disciple Lu Yu. After drinking the tea fried by him, the tea fried by others felt bland and tasteless." After the emperor heard this, he remembered it. Afterwards, he sent people to look for Lu Yu everywhere, and finally found him on Tianzhu Mountain in Tiaoxi, Wuxing County, and summoned him to the palace.
The emperor was very happy to see that Lu Yu was unattractive in appearance and stuttered a bit in his speech, but it was clear from his speech that he was knowledgeable and outspoken. Immediately ordered him to make tea. Lu Yu immediately brought the purple bamboo shoot tea picked before the Qingming Festival, carefully fried it and presented it to the emperor. As expected, the tea was fragrant, the tea taste was fresh and mellow, and the clear soup and green leaves were really unique. The emperor quickly ordered him to fry another bowl, and asked the palace maid to send it to the study for Ji Gong to taste. Ji Gong took the tea bowl, took a sip, praised the tea, and drank it all in one gulp. After he put down the tea bowl, he walked out of the study and shouted, "Where is Jian'er (Lu Yu's word)?" The emperor hurriedly asked, "How did you know that Lu Yu was coming?" Ji Gong replied: "The tea I just drank can only be made by him." If you can cook it, you must have come to the palace."
Although it is difficult to tell the authenticity of the above legend, it can be seen that Lu Yu is proficient in tea art.
3. The legend of Huangshan Maofeng
Huangshan is located in the southern part of Anhui Province and is a famous tourist attraction. The famous tea "Huangshan Maofeng" produced in the mountains is of excellent quality. . Speaking of this precious tea, there is an interesting legend!
During the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty, Xiong Kaiyuan, the new county magistrate of Yi County, Jiangnan Province, took a book boy on a spring outing to Huangshan Mountain. They lost their way and met a man. An old monk, carrying a bamboo basket across his body, stayed in the temple. When the elders were making tea to honor the guests, the magistrate took a closer look at the tea leaves, which were slightly yellow in color, shaped like a bird's tongue, and covered with pekoe. When the boiling water was brewed, the hot air circled around the edge of the bowl, and then rose straight up when it reached the center of the bowl. It is one foot high, then spins in a circle in the air and turns into a white lotus. The white lotus rose slowly and turned into a cloud, and finally dispersed into wisps of hot air, filling the room with fragrance. After asking the county magistrate, he learned that the tea was called Huangshan Maofeng. When leaving, the elder presented a bag of this tea and a gourd of Huangshan spring water, and told him that he must use this spring water to brew it to create the wonder of white lotus. After Xiong Zhixian returned to the county office, he met his old classmate Taiping Zhixian for a visit, so he performed the brewing of Huangshan Maofeng. The magistrate of Taiping County was very surprised. Later, he went to the capital to report to the emperor, hoping to offer immortal tea and ask for rewards. The emperor sent an order to enter the palace for a performance, but the wonder of the white lotus did not appear. The emperor was furious, and the magistrate of Taiping County had to tell the truth that it was presented by Xiong Kaiyuan, the magistrate of Yi County. The emperor immediately summoned Xiong Kaiyuan to the palace for interrogation. After entering the palace, Xiong Zhixian found out that he had not used Huangshan spring water for brewing. After explaining the reason, he asked to go back to Huangshan to get water. Xiong Zhixian came to Huangshan to meet the elder, who handed over the mountain spring to him. In front of the emperor, Huangshan Maofeng was brewed in a jade cup again, and the wonder of white lotus appeared. The emperor was beaming when he saw it, and said to the magistrate Xiong: "I think you have done a good job in offering tea, so I promoted you to the governor of Jiangnan. You will take office in three days." "Xiong Zhixian felt so deep in his heart that he thought to himself: "The famous Huangshan tea is of high quality, let alone a human being?" So he took off his official uniform and jade belt, came to Huangshan Yungu Temple and became a monk, with the name Zhengzhi. Nowadays, on the roadside under the Yungu Temple with green pines and bamboo paths, there is the ruins of the tomb tower of Master Bo'an. It is said that it is the tomb of monk Zhengzhi.
4. The legend of Silver Needle
Zhenghe County in the northeast of Fujian Province is rich in a famous tea, which is as white as silver and as straight as a needle. It is said that this tea can improve eyesight and reduce fire. It has a miraculous effect and can cure "big fire syndrome". This tea is called "Pakhao Silver Needle".
It is said that a long time ago, one year, there was a long drought and no rain in the Zhenghe area. Plague broke out everywhere, and countless people became sick and died. There is a Dragon Well on Donggong Mountain, which is covered by clouds and fog in the east. There are several immortal grasses growing beside the Dragon Well. The juice of the grass can cure all kinds of diseases. When the juice of the grass is dripped in rivers or fields, water will gush out. Therefore, it is necessary to To save the fellow villagers, we have to collect fairy grass. At that time, many brave young men went in search of fairy grass, but they never returned. There is a family with three brothers and sisters. The eldest brother is named Zhigang, the second brother is named Zhicheng, and the third sister is named Zhiyu. The three of them agreed that the eldest brother would look for the fairy grass first. If no one came back, then the second brother would look for it. If no one came back, the third sister would look for it. On this day, before setting off, the eldest brother Zhigang took out his ancestral Yuanyang sword and said to his younger siblings: "If you find rust on the sword, it means that your eldest brother is no longer alive." Then he set off towards the east. After walking for thirty-six days, we finally arrived at the foot of Donggong Mountain. At this time, an old man with white hair and silver beard walked out of the road and asked him if he wanted to go up the mountain to collect fairy grass. Zhigang answered yes. The old man said that the fairy grass was on the mountain next to the Longjing. , but when going up the mountain, you can only move forward and never look back, otherwise you will not be able to collect the fairy grass. Zhigang climbed halfway up the mountain in one breath, only to see the mountain full of rocks, which was eerie and terrifying. He ignored the shouts and just moved forward, but suddenly he heard a shout, "How dare you go up there?" Zhigang I was shocked, and when I turned around, I immediately became a new stone on this rocky hill. On this day, brother and sister Zhicheng found the sword rusty at home and knew that their eldest brother was no longer alive.
So Zhicheng took out the iron cluster arrow and said to Zhiyu, I went to pick the fairy grass. If you find that the arrow cluster is rusty, you can continue to find the fairy grass. After Zhicheng walked for forty-nine days, he also came to the foot of Donggong Mountain and met the white-haired grandfather. The grandfather also told him not to look back when he went up the mountain. When he walked to the rocky hill, he suddenly heard Zhigang shouting from behind him, "Brother Zhicheng, come and save me." He turned around and turned into a huge boulder. Zhiyu found rusty arrow clusters at home and knew that the task of finding the fairy grass finally fell on him. After she set off, she also met the white-haired grandfather on the way. He also told her not to look back and waited for words, and gave her a piece of baked glutinous rice cake. Zhiyu thanked her and continued to move forward with a bow and arrow on her back. When she came to Rock Hill, there was a strange sound. From all four directions, she suddenly got smart and stuffed her ears with glutinous rice cakes, determined not to look back, and finally climbed to the top of the mountain and came to the Dragon Well. She took out her bow and arrow and shot the black dragon to death. She picked the buds and leaves from the fairy grass and watered the fairy grass with well water. When the flowers blossomed and set seeds, Zhiyu picked the seeds and immediately went down the mountain. When passing the rocky hills, she followed her grandfather's instructions and dripped the juice from the jelly grass buds on each stone. The stones immediately turned into people, and Zhigang and Zhicheng were also resurrected. After the three brothers and sisters returned to their hometown, they planted seeds all over the hillside. This kind of fairy grass is the tea tree, so the buds and leaves of the tea tree are picked every year in this area, dried and collected, which is widely spread. This is the origin of the famous Baihao Silver Needle tea.
5. The legend of Taiping Houkui
Houtui tea is produced in Hukeng, Taiping County, Anhui Province. Speaking of Houkui tea, there is a story. Legend has it that in ancient times, a pair of white-haired monkeys lived in Huangshan and gave birth to a baby monkey. One day, the baby monkey went out to play alone and came to Taiping County. It encountered heavy fog and lost its way, and never returned to Huangshan. The old monkey immediately went out to search. A few days later, due to overwork and eagerness to find the child, the old monkey died of illness in a mountain pit in Taiping County. There lived an old man in the mountain pit, who made a living by collecting wild tea and medicinal materials. He was kind-hearted. When he found the old monkey who died of illness, he buried him on the hill and moved a few wild tea and mountain flower plants. Next to the old monkey's tomb, when he was about to leave, he suddenly heard a voice: "Old man, you have done a good thing for me, I must thank you." But there was no one there, and the old man didn't take it to heart. The next spring, the old man went to the hills to pick wild tea again, and found that the entire hills were covered with green tea trees. When the old man was wondering, he suddenly heard someone say to him: "I gave you these tea trees. If you cultivate them well, you will not have to worry about food and clothing in the future." Only then did the old man realize that these tea trees were given by the monkey god. From then on, the old man had a good tea mountain, and he no longer needed to travel over mountains and ridges to pick wild tea. In order to commemorate the sacred monkey, the old man called this hillock Houangang, the pit where he lived was called Houkeng, and the tea collected from Houangang was called monkey tea. Because the monkey tea was of superior quality and could be called the leader, the tea was later named Taiping Houkui.
These are the most classic tea legends and stories. They are all carefully selected by me. I hope they will be helpful to you!
