Brief introduction of Jinwen College
Jinwen Academy, also known as Confucius Temple, is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit in Hubei Province. Located on the Confucius River in Laojie, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a tourist attraction with the Millennium Jinwen Academy as the carrier, Confucian traditional culture as the main vein, Jingchu cultural knowledge as the foundation, and high-quality academy cultural sightseeing and leisure as the theme. It got its name from the story in The Analects of Confucius that Confucius traveled around the world and defected to Chu, which made him "interested in his own life". The academy was founded in the Western Han Dynasty and has a history of more than 2,000 years. It was the cradle of scholars in eastern Hubei during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and was known as the oldest "university" in China. In history, it is as famous as Yuelu Academy, Donglin Academy and Bailudong Academy. From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, there were 387 scholars in the academy, who were recorded in the Annals of Chinese Academy because of their great influence on the educational and cultural history of China. Jinwen Academy is located in the southern foot of Dabie Mountain, with beautiful scenery and outstanding people. It is the only remains of Confucius in Hubei Province and one of the best preserved ancient academies in Wuhan and even Hubei Province.
