What is the origin of the name Love Night Pavilion?

There is a Yuelu Mountain in Hunan Province. Yuelu Mountain is a collection of the essence of Hunan, Hunan and Chu culture, with many places of interest, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism as a whole and abundant plant resources.

Baihequan, Wang Yu Monument, stupa, Feilaishi, Zilaizhong and Chuanshipo are all distributed in the mountains. Maple catalpa, pine chestnut, dead branches, lush. The mountain stream does not dry up all year round and is quite quiet. At the turn of autumn and winter, the red maple jungle is dyed, the red orange is full of branches, and Yuelu Mountain is more beautiful.

On this beautiful Yuelu Mountain, there is an academy built in the Song Dynasty called Yuelu Academy. Yuelu Academy is an academy with profound Hunan culture connotation, which is famous for its numerous steles.

1792, Luo Dian, Dean of Yuelu Academy, built a pavilion on Qingfeng Gorge Mountain behind Yuelu.

The pavilion has eight columns and double eaves, with green glazed tiles on the top, and the corners of the pavilion fly up, which looks like flying from a distance. The inner column is mahogany, the outer four columns are granite square columns, and the ceiling is painted with algae wells. The pavilions on the east and west sides are hung with the "Love Night Pavilion" with a gold-plated red background, which is very spectacular.

In the past, Qingfeng Gorge was all over the ancient maple. Every late autumn, it was a sea of fire, so the pavilion was named "Hongye Pavilion", also known as "Aifeng Pavilion".

Later, Bi Yuan, Governor of Huguang, according to the Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu's "Mountain Walk", "Hanshan Stone Path is far away, and people are there. The poem "Love Maple Grove Late, Frost Leaves Red in February Flowers" was renamed "Love Night Pavilion".

But there is also a folk legend about the origin of Love Night Pavilion.

Soon after the pavilion was built, Yuan Mei, a talented young man from the south of the Yangtze River, made a special trip to Yuelu Academy to visit Luo Dian, the mountain chief. But Luo Dian is famous all over the world at this moment, and he is too lazy to see such a rising star. Yuan Mei knew about it, but without being angry or talking, he turned and went up the hill.

When Yuan Mei arrived at Qingfeng Gorge, he saw that it was surrounded by mountains on three sides and maple leaves were as red as fire. There are pavilions, stone pillars, glazed tiles and high cornices in the middle. The plaque of the pavilion reads "Hongye Pavilion" in three Chinese characters, and a couplet is engraved on the post:

The trail is red and comfortable in the evening, and 500 peaches are newly planted;

The gorge is dark green, and a pair of tame cranes are waiting in the cage.

Yuan Mei looked at the couplets, nodded, looked at the plaque again, as if to say something, but didn't say it. He left Qingfeng Gorge, visited Lushan Temple, watched Baihequan and boarded Yunlu Palace before going down the mountain.

On Yuelu Mountain, Yuan Caizi wrote a poem when he saw the scenery. Only when he arrived at Hongye Pavilion, he only copied Du Mu's poem "Mountain Walk", and copied the last two sentences into "Stop and sit in the maple forest, and the frost leaves are red in February", deliberately omitting the words "love, night".

Hearing this, Luo Dian followed him up the hill. Along the way, he saw Yuan Mei's poems, which were brilliant and full of praise.

When he arrived at Hongye Pavilion, Luo Dian understood these two sentences at once, thinking: This poem left out the word "love late" alone, which is another way of saying that I don't care about the younger generation. Luodian suddenly felt ashamed and renamed the pavilion "Love Night Pavilion".

From then on, Luodian was no longer arrogant. Every scholar who goes up the mountain, whether he likes it or not, whether he is familiar with it or not, always greedily enters the academy and treats each other warmly.

However, legend belongs to legend. According to historical records, it was Bi Yuan, the governor of Huguang at that time, who really renamed Aiwan Pavilion.

Bi Yuan was the governor of Huguang at that time and often went to the Love Evening Pavilion in Yuelu Mountain. Qu Yuan and Luo Dian have been friends for many years. Later, when Bi Yuan visited Yuelu Mountain, he renamed the pavilion "Love Night Pavilion".

There is a note after Luo Dian's poem "Two Poems of Poetic Rhyme in the Academy": "There are abundant red leaves in the mountains and pavilions at the foot of the mountains. Bi Qiufan's army is called' Love Night' Ji Yi Shi. "

This note also fully shows that Bi Yuan is the one who really renamed the pavilion. Love Night Pavilion has a deep sadness for autumn, and it is precisely because of this that it was named "Love Night Pavilion" by Du Mu's poem "Walking the Mountain".

Mutu's poem "Mountain Walk" wrote:

The stone road winds to the cliff in the distance.

Where there are some white clouds, you can see some households.

I stopped the carriage and was fascinated by Fenglin.

The frosty autumn leaves are redder than the flowers in February.

This poem is novel in conception and ingenious in layout. Absorbing gorgeous autumn colors in the bleak autumn wind and competing with spring scenery is pleasing to the eye. The language is clear and fluent, and the sound and rhyme are harmonious, which is suitable for thousands of people and lasts for a long time.

This poem depicts a beautiful picture of enjoying maple in autumn. The mountain road twists and turns to the top of the mountain.

There are several stone houses and stone walls where the white clouds float. Under the setting sun, maple leaves are about to drip, layers of forests are dyed, and clouds are everywhere, such as bright rosy clouds. Stop and admire, this gorgeous color is comparable to the flowers in Jiangnan spring.

This poem is a fragment of the "mountain walk" intercepted by the poet during his long journey. The word "late" in the third sentence reveals that the poet has been driving all day, and it is time to find a "home" to rest. Now it is "away from the cold mountain", marching on the sloping stone road.

Looking up along the stone road, I suddenly saw "someone in Bai Yunsheng", which is not only beautiful, but also can have a rest when I arrive.

The second sentence brings "parking" forward, which has a fascinating effect. "It's late" and "people" are still far away. Why did you suddenly stop? It turned out that he found a maple forest by the roadside and stopped to watch it because he loved the maple forest under the setting sun.

"Parking" highlights the word "love" and draws a conclusion.

There is also the word "dying in the maple forest", which means that when the sun sets, the red light comes obliquely, reflecting the maple leaves in the forest and burning. Regarding the conclusion "Frost leaves are red in February flowers", Huang Shucan, a poet in Qing Dynasty, wrote in Notes on Tang Poetry that "Frost leaves are red in February flowers" is a true saying.

Yu Biyun, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, also wrote in "An Introduction to Poetic Realm":

There are many poets who chant red leaves, such as' Red leaves burn warm wine in the forest' and' Red trees and green hills are good for putting boats', which are particularly popular in poetry circles and broadcast pictures.

However, Du Mu's poems are only admired for their brilliant colors, which are better than spring flowers. When the wind is strong and the frost is severe, Qiu Guang is gorgeous, red, yellow and purple, all the colors are salty, the mountains are wild, and the spring flowers are not so grand. Si Xun should reward it outside the peach.

Maple leaves all over the mountains are gorgeous, but it is difficult for literati who are imprisoned by the "sad autumn consciousness" to produce aesthetic feeling.

Du Mu's poems, however, take the word "love" as the introduction, and praise the maple leaf "redder than February flowers", which not only depicts the picturesque scenery, but also shows the poet's heroic and optimistic spirit.

Sad autumn is a traditional theme in the history of China literature, and the Love Night Pavilion surrounded by red leaves also has beautiful autumn beauty, so it is appropriate to name this pavilion "Love Night Pavilion" after climbing the mountain, which further sets off the beautiful scenery of Love Night Pavilion in autumn.

When Du Mu wrote this poem, he was an official in the south. The mountain in the poem is today's Yuelu Mountain. Because of the poem "Stop and sit and love LAM Raymond night", there is a love pavilion on Yuelu Mountain today.
