Is China a Swiss band or a Russian band?

Introduction to the Russian KITAI group:

KITAI group, meaning Chinese group, consists of four young singers Grisha, Pavel (Paul), Sonya (Sonya) ) and Sergei, with a pop rock style and an alternative rock vibe.

The group was founded in 2007. The manager is the famous Russian Maxim Fadeev. His group includes the most popular groups and singers in Russia, such as: Silver Group, Glucose Group (Ko Liu Koza), Dari, VORON, Victoria Ilyinskaya, Yulia Savicheva, etc.

The Chinese group initially sang in various small clubs. By chance, they won the favor of record label Maxim Fadeev and successfully released their first single. Winning over young audiences.

There are three theories as to why the band is called "China" (KITAI):

First, it has nothing to do with the Chinese character. The English name is written as Kit-i, and The pronunciation in Russian is exactly Кит - ай, which is exactly the same as the pronunciation of "China" in Russian.

2. The band’s usual rehearsal place is next to the “China Town” subway station in Moscow. When the band didn’t have a name, the four of them always liked to say: “Go to China” when they set out for rehearsals. (meaning going to the Chinatown subway station), we are used to it, so when we were naming the band, everyone thought of this name invariably.

3. Naming bands after countries and cities is a trend in Russia. There are countless such bands, such as: GUBA (Cuban band), Band'Eros (Russian band), Группа Чили ( Chilean group), Зона Газа (Gaza Strip), Tokyo (Tokyo band), etc. (encode_one compilation)
