It is said that the spring dawn on Yunlu comes from a magical legend. Legend has it that the three Mao brothers accidentally lost two golden elixirs when they were cultivating immortality at the Mao's Grotto in Hengshan Mountain. One of them was eaten by a yellow pheasant and a goat each.
The three Mao brothers discovered that the pheasants and goats had acquired immortal bodies, so they assigned them to be on duty in the bell tower on the west side of the Chao Palace to announce the dawn; and to be on duty in the Zizhi Valley on the east side of the Chao Palace to guard Ganoderma lucidum grass.
Decades later, the three Mao brothers went south to the south of the Yangtze River and asked the Golden Dragon boy to carefully guard the cave.
The Golden Dragon boy is playful in nature, and at first he carefully guarded the cave door. As time went by, it felt boring, and because there was no one to care about it, I gradually left the cave and went to play nearby. After returning, I saw that the cave was still safe and sound, and I gradually became more courageous. Sometimes I would go out for three to five days without returning, and eventually it would progress to not coming back once for dozens of days.
One day, a demon came up from the bottom of the mountain. He heard that there was a golden rooster and a goat in Hengshan Mountain, and he always wanted to steal them. He quietly came to the cave of the three Mao brothers, looked around for a while, listened quietly for a while, and then recited a spell at the entrance of the cave. A big golden rooster came out from the west side of the hall, and then a goat as white as jade came out from the east side.
The Demon Dao hurriedly caught the golden rooster and chased the goats down the mountain. At this time, there happened to be a group of sheep grazing. The goats got into the group as soon as they saw the sheep. The Demon Dao was busy looking for it. When he was anxious, Without grabbing the mouth of the bag, even the golden rooster flew away from his hand.
At this time, the residents at the foot of the mountain saw the shining golden light on the mountain and thought that the Heng Temple was on fire. Hundreds of people took shovels and water and went up the mountain to put out the fire. When the demon saw that something bad was going on, he quickly chanted a spell and turned the golden rooster and goat into stone.
Afterwards, the Golden Dragon boy failed to guard the treasure and was demoted to a wooden dragon by the three Mao brothers, forever fixed on the cliff.
Later people could see a blue rock shaped like an ancient rock, standing facing south. If they hit it with a stone, it would make a cooing sound and vibrate the valley, which is very interesting, just like a rooster crowing.

At this critical moment, a young man came from behind, waved a wooden stick, and drove away the wolf. The aunt and sister-in-law were very grateful and thanked the young man repeatedly.
During the conversation, I learned that this young man was a painter who built a temple in Hengshan. When the girl saw that he was handsome and very steady and capable in his speech and behavior, she fell in love with him. The kind-hearted sister-in-law noticed her sister-in-law's thoughts, so she helped her sister-in-law settle down with the painter for life.
Unexpectedly, good things come soon, and misfortunes fall from the sky. The son of the magistrate of Hunyuan had heard for a long time that the girl was very beautiful, so he wanted to marry her by force.
The girl's mother also disliked the poor and loved the rich, and coveted the prefect's family's money. She beat and scolded her to force her daughter to agree to the prefect's son's marriage. The girl couldn't bear it, so she ran away from home overnight and went to Hengshan Mountain to find the painter. The virtuous sister-in-law was afraid that something might happen to her sister-in-law, so she hurriedly followed her up the mountain to protect her secretly.
The girl ran all over the mountains and ridges of Mount Heng, but her lover was nowhere to be seen. At this time, the magistrate's son led his servants to chase him again. Seeing the wolf-like servants approaching step by step, the girl gritted her teeth and jumped from the top of the ten thousand feet peak. The sister-in-law rushed to the top of the cliff, but there was no trace of her sister-in-law, and she jumped from the cliff to her death.
The heroic actions of the aunt and sister-in-law moved the God of Beiyue. The Beiyue God used his magic to turn the girl into a lark, and the sister-in-law into a bird looking for her aunt.
