What are the essentials of crane boxing?

Hequan is a kind of Nanquan, which is widely spread in Yongchun, Fuzhou, Fuqing, Changle, Putian, Lianjiang and Ningde. Authentic White Crane Boxing is said to have been created by Qi Niang of Yongchun Fang.

Baihemen Boxing has been handed down from generation to generation, and has evolved into four different boxing types: zonghe, minghe, flying crane and eating crane.

Since the four kinds of crane boxing, namely, Sect, Ming, Fei and Shi, have the same origin, they must have many similarities in techniques and training requirements. For example, they all talk about three wars as the foundation; They all talk about sinking into the abdomen, practicing the skills of abdomen, and replenishing strength with qi. Both inside and outside are required when fighting, with the help of light and shade. In terms of posture, it is required to hold the top of the head, stabilize the neck, pull out, loosen the shoulders, waist, hips and crotch. All techniques require changes in the five elements, and they are mutually reinforcing. Footwork requires stability, five-point gold landing, landing and taking root.

However, as different kinds of boxing, they have their own characteristics and uniqueness: Zonghe pays attention to the use of "Zongjin", combining rigidity with softness; The singing crane urges with sound, fierce and brave; The flying crane stretches generously and has an action image; Eating cranes is light, fast and flexible.

The four kinds of crane boxing, which are religious, vocal, flying and eating, have different requirements on posture, footwork and technique due to their different characteristics.
