Conversion to Buddhism and becoming a monk requires procedures: Article 9 of the Measures for the Administration of Temples stipulates: "A temple shall identify the person who requests to become a monk after finding out his identity.
Only those who meet the requirements of becoming a monk can accept staying in the temple, appointing teachers according to instructions, granting three conversions and five precepts, and accepting an inspection by a monk group for more than one year.
After passing the test, the hair will be formally shaved and sent to the viceroy according to the prescribed methods and procedures.
Article 10: "To convert to the Three Treasures, you must have a wish, be patriotic and law-abiding, have good conduct, be firm in faith, and respect this. Only after being recommended by Buddhist disciples can you convert to a teacher."
"According to the converted brother, Zheng should be as heavy as the law. People who convert to the Yi people must fill out a form, record their surnames, brief calendars and introductions, and submit it to the temple for preservation. "
This is not an unnecessary insistence, but a necessary procedure. Therefore, the Buddhist scriptures say that although the world does good, it cannot destroy the laws of the previous world.
Couples can also convert to the same place together.
Attachment: the experience of converting to Buddhism (picked up online, I hope it will help you).
Looking back on the process of converting to Buddhism in the past five years, I am deeply moved and grateful. I saw a bright future in my lost way. The teachings and proofs of Buddhism are still there, and the holy teachings handed down from the dharma vein are still there. There is still a chance that all beings in troubled times will be confused.
I remember when I visited the King Kong Dojo in Shanghai five years ago, I heard the layman there say,' There is a Duobao lecture temple in Gaojian Township, Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province, where there is a great virtue who keeps the precepts. He gets up at three o'clock in the middle of the night to chant Buddhist scripture every day, year after year, and the wind and rain continue. The Dojo there has strict discipline and attaches great importance to practice. "Listen to the layman, I respect. With the feeling that urbanites are tired of leaving their troubles behind and exploring secrets, I used my spare time to embark on the road to Duobaojiang Temple. As soon as I got off the bus, I saw a paradise surrounded by mountains, which made people realize that this is an underdeveloped place. From a distance, we can see a temple different from other temples in the Han Dynasty, which makes people feel that it has the potential to dominate the world. Approaching the mountain gate, I saw a very simple bungalow, only the main hall was majestic and towering. When I entered the temple gate, the monk spoke kindly, went through the accommodation formalities for me and put down my luggage, only to know that this is a very poor place. Because of my deep karma, I went back the next day after I converted to Buddhism. On the way back, the sound of chanting in the morning hovered in my mind, and the scene of early class emerged. Everyone read aloud, full of energy, away from the secular. After a while, I came to Duobaojiang Temple again and saw a monk holding a string of prayer beads and reading something diligently. When he asked others, he said,' I'm reading Four Converts diligently, and I'm converting to Tibetan guru, Buddha, Dharma and monk. I'm surprised. Alas, the guru also taught me "four conversions". Why didn't I study it? I deeply admire the monk's persistence in practice. It is observed that the monks here don't just talk to people, but only say' Amitabha' to you. The monks here cut their own firewood, cook their own meals and stay at home. When they leave the temple gate, they must take out their key cards. At that time, I wanted to go out of the temple to get a certificate, which was the same as going to work in a factory. It is a rule to go to work and go out. All monks see from the eyes of secular people. There is no TV set or newspaper in the temple, and life is as calm as water. There is a sense of loneliness and monotony for people who come out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Because of the incitement of old habits, there is a desire to return to the noisy city, just like a moth to a fire under the lights of a noisy palace.
When I got home, I suddenly felt that the city had become more noisy and boring, and I couldn't settle down. There is such a great contrast between the noisy life in the city and the quiet life in Duobaojiang Temple that it is simply two worlds. At this time, I remembered my "four conversions" when I was preaching Buddhism, and I wanted to read it myself. After studying for a while, my heart seems to settle down a little. I watch it every day, and my life is very regular. I happened to go to Jushilin, Shanghai, and I saw those old ladies chanting the Buddha's name diligently around the Buddha statue. I felt something in my heart. It turns out that those old ladies chanted the Buddha's name around the Buddha statue.
For secular disciples at home, it is inevitable to watch TV at night and pay attention to the programs they are interested in, so the quality of reading the "four modernizations" is poor. Sometimes there are even pictures of TV screens in my dreams, which increases my troubles. As the saying goes,' think about it day and night'. When I meditate alone, I am also delusional and uncomfortable. When we arrived at Duobaojiang Temple, the guru said, Have you ever heard of the most extensive theory of Bodhi Dao Ji? To learn Buddhism, we should start with Bodhi Daoism in the broadest sense, and The Three Outline of Jiedinghui is the outline of Bodhi Daoism in the broadest sense, so watching TV at home is not conducive to monasticism. After listening to the "three basics of abstinence" explained by the guru, we realized that our first five senses-eyes, ears, nose, tongue and body-are just like journalists, sending information about the outside world they see, hear, smell, taste and touch to their brains and staying in their consciousness. When people are asleep, although the first five senses are resting, the sixth consciousness is still active. Just like an editor, the sixth consciousness turns out the things interviewed during the day, which will increase our troubles and disturb our body and mind, and people will feel sleepy when they wake up in their dreams. Such as objective beauty, it is in this environment that the greed for love arises. Because of the beauty of the realm, there are more and more troubles.
The Buddha said that the' Twelve Origins Method' dispelled all sentient beings' troubles. The twelve origins are: 1. Ignorance, 2. Action, 3. Knowledge, 4. Name, color, five or six places, 6. Touch, 7. Receive, 8. Love, 9. Take, 10. Have, 11. Live, 12. Die of old age. Our troubles in this life are born, held by ourselves, touched, collected, loved, held and produced. Knowing three roots and touching them with the same name, you can accept them, and there are three kinds of feelings: joy, worry and abandonment. "Shu Fu" said: "It is said that there are joys and sorrows in the heart, and the six roots are similar, so it becomes eighteen. And there are six joys in the six realms of joy, six nearities in the six realms of worry, and six nearities in the six realms of sacrifice. " These six realms refer to the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind. "What do you mean by asking about the latest trip? A: The legendary "happiness and equality" means that there are many parades in various places recently. " In this case, "marching" means leaving. We have three kinds of reception differences, one is greed for love in a lovely environment, and the other is disgust for love. Because of the feeling of all sentient beings' karma and habits, wisdom is hindered by ignorance, which leads to the reversal of mind and desires to pollute the lovely environment all over the world in order to obtain various wonderful realms. At this time, naming and collecting can lead to the existence of fruit industry, which makes us constantly flow between life and death in the three realms. Most ordinary people are greedy for fame and fortune, and seek everywhere to enjoy the five desires. What's more, they hurt others and themselves, so that they violated the laws of the country and suffered painful retribution. The afterlife will fall into three evil ways.
During my more than one year in Duobaojiang Temple, what impressed me most was that Duobaojiang Temple was like an iron wall, blocking the outside world. This isolated environment is very helpful for me to learn Buddhism. My troubles are less than before, and I know a little about my habits. Because there are fewer places to love beauty, it is conducive to meditation and Buddhism. Besides, living in a temple is closer to the guru. The guru forbade the molten beads to cool, which was often influenced by the guru's tangible and intangible.
Last year, the guru gave a lecture on "Fifty Odes to the Teacher" to four disciples, explaining how to stop being knowledgeable by relying on reason. I was deeply moved by the guru's compassion, which enabled me, a foolish disciple, to get along and learn this extraordinary method. "Fifty Odes to a Teacher" says that the teacher should become a Buddha, and the teacher should be meritorious, and watch his kindness to us. The merit of the guru is to teach and prove that all sentient beings are successfully absorbed and all sentient beings are forgiven. The kindness of the guru is to make every effort to educate us and make us happy from suffering. I remember one meditation, and my body was out of order. The guru told me not to meditate blindly without guidance. Because I crave the taste of meditation, I said to the guru,' Everyone else is meditating.' This means I can meditate, too. The guru gave a lion roar:' Others don't know, but I'm telling you now, do you know? ! I was angry when I wanted to be a guru, but I was really scared. Then the guru said mercifully that there are two conditions for meditation,' one is to observe the precepts and the other is to protect you.' I just converted to Buddhism, although I don't understand the meaning, but meditation is reasonable, so I won't meditate. After a while, my health improved. At this time, I lamented that the guru was really merciful! As long as all sentient beings suffer, we should use great compassion and clever methods to relieve their suffering.
Fifty Odes to the Teacher is about the law of relying on restraint. When we treat good knowledge as medicine and ourselves as patients, we will have respect for the law. The guru has repeatedly taught us to follow principles and good knowledge. Good knowledge consists of ten aspects, such as precept, sorrow and harmony, and Tantric Buddhism has added ten aspects of internal perfection. "Fifty Odes to the Master" says that the master should be regarded as a Buddha. For all sentient beings in the last days of Dharma, Buddha can only enlighten us as a master, and Master can also enlighten us as ordinary people, which will make us feel that it is not difficult to become a master, just like us. The Fifty Odes says that the merit of the guru is the merit of the Buddha. If we want to keep up with the teacher's study, we must learn the merits of the guru. If we get the merit of the guru, we will not be far from becoming a Buddha. First of all, we should treat the guru as a Buddha, because the merits of the Buddha are easy to see, while those of ordinary people are hard to see. In this way, by observing that the guru is a Buddha and then pushing it to every sentient being, we will respect every sentient being and help others. The guru often said that people who study Buddhism should have compassion, be helpful to others, and refrain from flowing out of Buddha's great compassion. After being nourished by the kind rain of the guru, I gradually realized that the most important thing of Buddhist thought is to care for others and help others, so that everyone can get rid of suffering and enjoy it. Buddhism is positive, not negative Learning Buddhism lies in social practice. If all sentient beings are treated as Buddhas and treated with compassion, their feelings towards others will be much calmer. Moreover, when the mentality of helping others appears, the meaning and value of life will be reflected. Under the influence of my guru, I also actively participated in the disaster relief activities mobilized by the state when the Yangtze River floods and earthquakes occurred in some parts of the country, and made many donations. I also benefited from the boundless kindness of Buddhism.
On one occasion, I stayed in Duobaojiang Temple for a few days longer than before, because I was uncomfortable and itchy. According to the layman here, newcomers will have such symptoms, and some people will have very bad hair. A monk saw me scratching all over and said,' Do you feel sick?' Look at me carefully, and I see a lot of little red dot on me, saying,' It's humid here, and some people will feel uncomfortable when they first come here. Take some medicine and you'll be fine. I thought to myself, it is really not easy to study law here, and all kinds of violations will follow. I'm hesitant about staying. I finished washing clothes and went back to the cabin. A layman said to me,' A monk came to see you just now, but you weren't there. He left the medicine here. This is the medicine he gave you. At this time, I felt a warm current in my heart and lamented that this place is different from the outside world. People who have no self always benefit others. They realized from their own life experiences that people who study Buddhism are just different from ordinary people and have a compassionate heart.
Once I sent my Japanese friend back to Pudong International Airport and got on the airport bus. The conductor came face to face. I took out my pocket to buy a ticket, and suddenly I felt that my pocket was empty-I forgot my wallet, which was in the desk drawer of the company. I was a little anxious and explained to the conductor,' I forgot my wallet. I'll leave my watch in the car and pay for it another day. I hope you can take me out of the airport. But the conductor refused my request. I suddenly lost my mind. Pudong International Airport is a new airport, 40 kilometers away from the urban area, and only the airport bus can reach it. It takes a day to walk to this city. Helpless to get off the airport bus and feel sad on the side of the road. Suddenly a car came slowly towards me. I got up the courage to ask,' Can you take me out of the airport?' The driver said kindly, "Come on up." On the bus, the driver's kind smile appeared in his eyes. I said,' Thank you very much. He said:' No need, everyone will have difficulties, which is natural.' At this point, I am relieved. When I turned around, I suddenly saw a pregnant Maitreya Buddha smiling at me. There was a Buddha statue in the cab. I said,' Are you a disciple who converted to Buddhism?' He said, "Yes." I said,' does Buddhism help others?' He said,' Yes, this is what a Buddhist should do. Nowadays, the society also advocates "I am for everyone and everyone is for me" and treats others well, not to mention that a Buddhist should help others. "Looking back on his words, if everyone can do as he did, the social atmosphere will improve. People help each other, respect the old and love the young, be polite to each other, get rid of troubles, ignore the faults of others, help others, embody the Buddha's thoughts, purify themselves, and the earth will be naturally clean.
I'm deeply ashamed that I haven't done enough in this respect. I'm' the first right to stop by reason'. A new year is a new beginning. In the new year, I will take Master Fifty Odes as a mirror, always look at myself, observe the merits and demerits of the guru, care for others, help others, and support the guru with my body and mind.
