Encyclopedia explanation
Haotian is the abbreviation of Haotianshen in Han culture, and is honored as "Jade Emperor" in mythology. As the supreme god of Chinese civilization circle, Haotian has been a sacrifice of the imperial court since ancient times. There are obvious differences in the worship of the Temple of Heaven in different dynasties. Haotian God is the official sacrifice of the emperor and the imperial court, while Sanqing, Sakyamuni and Jade Emperor are not among the official sacrifices of the country, which is quite different. Special note: The title Jade Emperor is only used in Taoism, folklore and opera after the Song Dynasty. Orthodox officials are "gods". Jade Emperor is a Taoist belief that appeared before Jingkang in Song Dynasty. Check the encyclopedia
