The inscription records Cao Fu and Cao Ming, the central defenders of Shenyang in the Ming Dynasty, and is proved to be the ancestors of Cao Xueqin, the author of A Dream of Red Mansions, which is an important evidence that Cao Xueqin lived in Shenyang for generations.
There was a saying in the past: "Chang 'an Temple came first, then Shenyang City." These two ancient folk proverbs have been circulating in Shenyang for many years. However, is it strange that such a famous ancient temple has no mountain gate? Speaking of Chang'an Temple, why isn't there a mountain gate? There is another interesting legend.
According to legend, this is the early years of the Tang Dynasty, when Li Shimin, the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty, led an army to March eastward. In order to maintain the prosperity and long-term stability of the Tang Dynasty, he chose to build a temple here and named it Chang'an Temple, and appointed his capable general Wei Chijingde as the director to supervise the construction of Chang'an Temple. Wei Chijingde received an order from the King of Tang, and dared not neglect it. He often goes to construction sites.

Smiling, the official kept reporting the progress of the project to Jingdezhen. Jingdezhen nodded, expressing satisfaction. They walked for a while, and the plumber's official asked Jingdezhen to show them where to build the temple gate.
Just then, suddenly a fast horse came at a gallop. The man on horseback rushed to Jingdezhen, rolled over and dismounted, and gave a military salute. He hurried to report, "general report, this is not a good thing. When my master Tang Wang was hunting, a sentry rushed out of nowhere and surrounded him. Very bad. The situation is very tense at present. Please hurry to save him! " Jingde was surprised to hear the messenger's report. Come on, he's not in the mood to answer officials' questions. He untied the reins of his Hummer anxiously, pulled over the mount, flew on the horse's back and galloped away.
Officials in charge of repairing the temple are anxious to ask about the construction of the mountain gate. Seeing Jingdezhen galloping away, he was also anxious. He had to ask the truth, otherwise the project would be postponed. He also pulled a horse to ride and chased it from behind.
Two horses in tandem, chasing the moon like meteors. Jingdezhen's horse runs very fast, and it is in front, and it is about to run to the edge of Shenshui (Hunhe River). The official's horse runs very slowly, and someone is chasing it. No matter how he whipped the horse, the horse he rode still couldn't catch up with Jingdezhen's fast horse.

Jingdezhen's mount was originally a BMW pony. Jingdezhen leaned over and patted the forehead of three dismounted horses. The horse seems to understand his master's meaning. Hearing the sound of "making baby", I raised my front hoof and jumped from the north bank of Shenshui to the south bank of Shenshui. The official who was driven out from behind rode an ordinary horse. He can't cross the river. There is no other way to consider. He had to let go of his voice and shouted at the other side: "Please give an answer about repairing the mountain gate!"

At this time, he heard the shouts from the north shore again. However, at this time, Jingdezhen has no leisure to carefully summarize the matter of building the mountain gate. He turned around, raised his whip at the official, casually pointed to the north shore, and loudly replied, "Then build the mountain gate here!" " Taking his word, he shook the reins and drove away.
Later, officials in charge of temple construction built the gate of Chang 'an Temple on the flooded shore according to the place pointed by Jingde Whip. In this way, anyone who comes to Chang'an Temple will not see the gate of this temple. In this way, in the ancient city of Shenyang, Chang'an Temple's story of "the temple in the city, the city in the temple" was left behind.
