As one of the most famous historical figures in China, I believe no one does not know that Lao Zi's surname is Li Minger, so is it really "Li"? In fact, this point has always been controversial, and even many scholars have suggested that Laozi's surname is not "Li" but "Lao", among which there are many well-known Chinese scholars, such as Guo Moruo, who support this statement.
so what is the basis for this statement? According to legend, Lao Zi's father was the Sima of the Song State in the Spring and Autumn Period named Lao Zuo. When the State of Chu attacked the Song State, Lao Zi was in charge of supervising the war. He was accidentally shot in the chest by an arrow in the back and fell to his death. The soldiers of the Song State were suddenly leaderless and annihilated. At that time, Lao Zuo's family was in the Song military camp, when he heard the bad news and saw all the soldiers scattered and fled, dozens of generals and guards immediately escorted their relatives to escape, and the party fought and retreated. Finally, in the evening, they left the pursuer behind, but only two maids and one general were left beside the lady.
The family will drive the bus and dare not stop. They smeared the road all night and went the wrong way in a hurry. As a result, they came to a strange and remote village at dawn. Originally, the family would only know to go west, but they did not know that they had deviated from the route and headed south. As a result, the four of them walked for seven days without seeing the capital of Song State, but they arrived at Xiangyi of Chen State.
On the way, my wife suddenly felt unbearable pain in her abdomen. It turned out that she was seven months pregnant. In order to show her determination to win, Lao Zuo brought her pregnant wife into the battlefield, but Lao Zuo died in the battlefield, and her wife was sad and anxious, and she worked hard for days, which led to fetal movement in her abdomen. The maid was frightened to disgrace, and the driver would quickly stop the car and find an old woman in a nearby village. Soon, she listened to the crying of the carriage, and the wife gave birth to a premature baby, which was Laozi.
When I was born, I was big and weak, with broad eyebrows and wide ears. Because of its wide ears, I was named "Yong". When I was born in 571 BC, it was the Year of the Tiger, and my neighbors called it "Xiaoli Er", which means little tiger, while the homonym of "raccoon" was "Li Er". Over time, this nickname became a big name. The above is one of the allusions of Laozi's birth (there is another saying that Laozi's father is Li Gan, an ancient historian of Zhou Dynasty). Although there is no strong basis, Zhuangzi was the first thing Laozi said, not Historical Records, and the word "Li Er" was not mentioned in Zhuangzi, which was always called "Lao Dan".
