Allbirds is a San Francisco-based startup that designs environmentally friendly footwear.
Brand Origin:
In 2009, Mr Brown, then vice-captain of the New Zealand football team, was trying to figure out his next interest. He loved design, and before going to business school, he made simple leather shoes for friends. But the shoes are very uncomfortable to wear.
Brown said: "There are 29 million sheep in New Zealand, so wool is the most wool." So, with research funds from the New Zealand wool industry, Brown started a crowdfunding campaign to make wool shoes in 2014 .
The other founder, Mr. Zwillinger, was originally a biotechnology engineer who worked in Silicon Valley. Unexpectedly, the two founders were introduced to each other by their wives, who were best friends and former Dartmouth roommates. So Mr. Brown traveled to Northern California to meet with Mr. Zwillinger, hoping to get more advice on the supply chain.
Mr. Zwillinger cooked a sumptuous dinner, and the two chatted while eating, and finally decided to form a company to start developing the business, and decided to name the company Allbirds.

Product features:
1. Simple design
No exaggerated trademarks. No meaningless details. This is just a shoe that comes first with comfort, naturally made, and functionally designed. It's just minimalist.
2. Shoe materials are made from natural materials
In New Zealand, the number of sheep is about six times that of people, which provides a large amount of wool for allbirds. The process of allbirds is better than that of typical synthetic shoes. The materials used in the shoes save 60% of energy.
In addition, castor oil is used to make insoles, which increases the natural characteristics of the insoles and doubles the comfort.
Each shoebox packaging is made from 90% recycled cardboard, because every box deserves a second chance.
