There are cars coming here and it doesn't feel crowded at all. Facing the dam and next to the water, it has a unique atmosphere.
Experience: I gathered 30 friends and drove seven cars. There was a shower on the road and we stopped there. Looking at the rainbow across the mountains in the distance, eating grilled chicken wings and sipping red wine, it’s so charming! At night, seven cars formed a circle, turned on their lights, and everyone danced and danced to the music...
Tip: Be sure to bring a radio and a tape. The temperature is low at night, so bring more coverings and wear more clothes.
Drive: Take Badaling Expressway and take the exit of Shisanling Reservoir.
■Emerald Island - has a dedicated camping beach
Reason for recommendation: There is a specially designated camping beach where you can set up tents and barbecue. It’s worth a visit to experience “settling down” by the sea.
Experience: The sea here is extremely beautiful. On one side is the blue sea and on the other side are high sand mountains. It is said that when viewed from the sky, this sea area is as green as emerald, so it was named Emerald Island. After watching the sunrise in the morning, I went out to catch the sea, dig for crabs and collect shells. Then go sandboarding and play beach volleyball.
Tip: The meat skewers here are good, drink some beer, talk about love and not knowing where to go, talk about ideals and life, and spend the whole night talking over wine and the moon in front of the sea. Especially good for couples.
Drive: The southern coast of the Gold Coast in Changli County. Take the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway and drive towards Nandaihe, and it will take about 6 hours to arrive.
■Jiugukou Natural Scenic Area—Beijing’s largest outdoor camping area
Reason for recommendation: This is the largest outdoor camping area in Beijing.
Experience: It is surrounded by mountains, rivers and the Great Wall. After setting up camp, you can barbecue, fish, and grass ski. Although it is not far from the city, lying in the tent at night and sleeping under the stars and moon, with hundreds of birds making clockwork, always makes you feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Drive: Take the Jingshun or Airport Expressway to Huairou, go north to Yanqi Lake and then go 5 kilometers north.
■Lingshan - experience camping at the highest place in Beijing
Reason for recommendation: It is exciting and proud to be able to camp on the top of Lingshan, the highest peak in Beijing (the main peak is 2303 meters above sea level) things. There are many maple trees on the road near Lingshan Scenic Area. It will be beautiful in autumn!
Experience: There is a lawn on the top of the mountain for camping. Looking to the west, we are far away from Xiaowutai Mountain. When you come here, you can choose to cross Lingshan via the West Longmen Stream. The West Stream is surrounded by wild mountains and wild waters, and the road is steeper and more difficult to walk than the East Stream. Traveling and camping are exciting enough.
Tip: The wind on the mountain is very strong and very cold. Use a tent with good windproof performance, and pay special attention to safety when setting it up.
Drive: From Jingmi Road to Miyun, turn right at the Sangyuan intersection and go straight.
■Yunmeng Mountain Natural Scenic Area - Camping to Reminisce the War Years
Reason for recommendation: The natural scenery along Yunmeng Mountain is primitive and beautiful, and the autumn of September and October is even more charming. It is the closest national forest reserve to Beijing and is famous for its danger, beauty, wonder and majesty. It is very suitable for outdoor fitness and camping activities.
Experience: You can set up tents and camp in Lengfengdian deep in Yunmeng Mountain (a self-sufficient place built by the people to avoid the Japanese during the Anti-Japanese War). The scene of the Anti-Japanese War seems to be right in front of you.
Tip: When the temperature at night is around 5℃, you must bring a sweater; comfortable shoes are very important when walking on mountain trails for a long time.
Driving: Pass through Dongzhimen and head north to Huairou, then cross Yanqi Lake and head 25 kilometers north.
■Laogoumen Primitive Forest Park - Sleeping in the Forest
Reason for recommendation: The vast primeval forest, steep cliffs and mysterious Grand Canyon, camping here can be more enjoyable Enjoy more of nature’s gifts.
Experience: There are dense goat forests and birch forests on the mountain. At night, I often hear the sounds of roe deer and pheasants in the tent. Although it has a strong primitive forest atmosphere, I am also scared to death.
Tip: Don’t forget to take a sip of the spring water in the longevity spring. It is said that dozens of families who have drank this spring water for generations have elderly people over ninety years old in every family. It is best not to camp in the mountains, safety first.
Driving: From Jingshun Road to Huairou, go north along Huaifeng Highway to the north of Laogoumen Village. There are road signs.
