The ancient emperors of China began with Qin Shihuang. Before him, monarchs were called kings or monarchs. After Qin Shihuang ascended the throne, he felt that these titles of the king were not enough to show his dignity, so he ordered his ministers to discuss changes. Finally, he put forward the title of emperor himself, and it was at this time that he changed his claim to be emperor.
I, who first appeared in Oracle bone inscriptions in Shang Dynasty, always said that before the Western Zhou Dynasty, I might refer to the cracks in the ship, but there was no more convincing written information. However, Qin Shihuang has always been proud of the world he laid, and his self-proclaimed choice is definitely not that simple, just like his first emperor. The beginning is the first meaning, and the emperor is the collective name of the three emperors and five emperors.
Development of appellation
In ancient China, there was no such thing as an emperor at the earliest. Qin Shihuang used this title for the first time after unifying the six countries. In order to show his status and achievements, everyone called him the emperor. Just like the title "Emperor", the emperors in ancient China generally did not call themselves "I", which was later developed.
Earlier in ancient China, emperors did not call themselves "I", but "I", because there was a tradition of humility in ancient China, so emperors called themselves that way. But all this was changed by Qin Shihuang. Qin Shihuang made many changes to the society at that time, such as unified measurement, unified currency, enfeoffment system changed to county system, slave society changed to feudal society, and so on. Among them, replacing lonely people with me is also one of the changes.
