Where is the biggest Millennium Taoist temple in Linyi, Shandong Province?

When it comes to the famous mountains in Shandong, most people think of Mount Tai for the first time. Mount Tai is one of the five mountains, and it is a dual heritage of world culture and nature. The land ranks first among the five mountains and enjoys the reputation of "the exclusive respect of the five mountains". Besides Mount Tai, there are many famous mountains and rivers in Shandong, but their popularity is not so high under the aura of Mount Tai. Mengshan is one of the famous mountains in Shandong.

Mengshan, located in the northwest of Linyi, Shandong Province, is located in the hinterland of Yimeng Mountain. It is the largest mountain in Shandong Province and the second highest peak after Mount Tai, so it is called "Dai". Confucius once climbed the East Mountain and went to Lu Xiao. Today, Mengshan is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, a world geological park and the first "China Ecological Famous Mountain" in China, which is deeply loved and welcomed by tourists.

When I was visiting Mengshan Mountain, I met a Taoist complex at the foot of Mengshan Mountain, namely Wanshou Palace, which is located in Berlin Town, Pingyi County, Linyi City. It is the starting point for visiting the main scenic spots of Mengshan and climbing the top of Guimeng Mountain, the main peak of Mengshan. The whole complex includes the ruins of the ancient Mengci and Wanshou Palace, as well as the newly-built buildings in modern times, surrounded by mountains and with pleasant scenery.

There are several modern newly-built archways at the entrance, one of which is engraved with a plaque of "Taoism is natural". The word "Taoism is natural" comes from Gigi Lai II's Tao Te Ching, which states that everything in the universe follows the natural laws of Taoism, and it is very close to the famous Taoist mountain and Mengshan, the world's holy place for health and longevity.

In front of the Wanshou Palace, you can also see a huge "Ding" standing in the square, which is the "Fushou Kangning Ding". Its shape is very huge, with a diameter of 6. 19 meters and a height of 9.99 meters. It is said that nearly 500 square meters of stones were used to build this cauldron, weighing more than 600 tons. This is the biggest and heaviest tripod in the world today. Seen from a distance, it is for.

Wanshou Palace in Mengshan was called the ancient Mongolian temple in ancient times. In the fifth year of Xuanhe in the Northern Song Dynasty, Evonne, Song Huizong, canonized the ancient king of Zhuan Xu as Yinglie Zhao Jihui, and renamed the ancient Mongolian temple "Yinglie Zhao Jihui Minwang Temple", which has a history of more than 1000 years. The local people respected Zhuan Xu King very much, and they often came here to worship him after his death.

As we all know, Taoism prevailed in the Song Dynasty, so it was renamed "Wanshou Palace". At that time, the incense in Wanshou Palace was also very strong, with more than 300 Taoist temples and a large scale. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month, a grand temple fair will be held here, which will always be a scene of tourists gathering and incense.

However, with the prevalence of Buddhism, Wanshou Palace gradually declined, and some buildings were damaged due to disrepair. Today, the Wanshou Palace we see is built in modern times. Its building faces south, and the Jade Emperor Hall is built in front of the mountain gate and passes through it as the main building of Wanshou Palace. Although Wanshou Palace shows people a picture of the new face of the ancient temple, it also has the momentum of that year, but there are not many tourists, which seems a little deserted. After all, most people come here to play for the turtle top.

Wanshou Palace is surrounded by mountains and waters. A large number of trees have been planted in the courtyard, including more than 700 trees such as Qiao Song, Castanopsis kawakamii, Cedar, Pinus thunbergii and Metasequoia glyptostroboides. Among them, there is a very precious tree in front of the Jade Emperor's Temple, which was planted in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, and it is still flourishing and full of vitality.
