How did the ancients harvest and thresh rice?

The ancients also summed up a set of scientific methods for rice harvesting and threshing. According to the literature of Ming Dynasty, the cut stems of rice plants contain quite nutritious substances, which can be transported to rice continuously, and the plumpness of fruits can be improved.

Because of the different financial resources and scale of farmers, the tools used for threshing are also different. Small-scale threshing uses rice stalks, which are rectangular bamboo mats made of bamboo stalks. Another commonly used threshing tool is Lian, which was called Lian in ancient times.
