Guan Yu's cause of death
For a long time, there are three main views about Guan Yu's death. First, Guan Yu died because of Liu Bei's poor life; Second, Guan Yu died because of Zhuge Liang's fault; Third, Guan Yu was killed because of his strong personality. Guan Yu, a native of Yuncheng, Shanxi, traveled around the world with Liu Bei at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was captured by Cao Cao and killed Yuan Shao's general Yan Liang with Zhang Fei in Bai Mapo. He was honored as Guan Gong, also known as the bearded Duke, and was praised and titled by the imperial courts in past dynasties. In the Qing Dynasty, SHEN WOO was regarded as a loyal monarch and a warrior sage, just like Confucius in Wen Sheng. The Romance of the Three Kingdoms honored him as the first of the five generals in Shu, and Mao Zonggang called him the Three Wonders of Romance.
