What will happen after the drought?

In the year of drought, there are four kinds of disasters, namely earthquake, locust plague, flood and plague.

1. earthquake: also known as ground motion and ground vibration, it is a natural phenomenon caused by the rapid release of energy in the crust, and seismic waves will be generated in the process. On the earth, plates collide with each other, resulting in dislocation and rupture at the edge and inside of plates, which is the main reason for earthquakes.

2. locust plague: refers to locust plague. Once a locust plague occurs, a large number of locusts will devour fields, completely destroy agricultural products, cause serious economic losses, and even cause famine due to food shortage. Since 2020, desert locust disasters have hit many parts of the world from Africa to South Asia.

3. Waterlogging: Flood and drought disasters include: floods in rivers and reservoirs, waterlogging disasters, mountain torrents (referring to flash floods, mudslides and landslides caused by rainfall), typhoons, droughts, water supply crises, and secondary derivative disasters such as dam break, dike burst and sluice collapse caused by floods and earthquakes.

4. Plague: Plague is an infectious disease caused by some highly pathogenic substances, such as bacteria and viruses. It is generally caused by poor sanitary conditions after natural disasters.

Drought refers to meteorological disasters caused by severe or abnormal climate drought. Generally speaking, due to insufficient soil moisture, the water balance of crops is destroyed, which leads to crop yield reduction or crop failure, thus causing food problems and even famine.

At the same time, due to the lack of adequate drinking water, drought will also lead to human and animal deaths. In addition, locusts are prone to occur after drought, which in turn leads to more serious famine and social unrest.

Most parts of China belong to the Asian monsoon climate zone, and the precipitation is influenced by land and sea distribution, topography and other factors, and the distribution between regions, seasons and years is very uneven, so the period and degree of drought have obvious regional distribution characteristics. The spring drought is prominent in the area north of Huaihe River in Qinling Mountains, which is called "Nine Spring Drought in Ten Years".

There will be disaster after the drought.

1, drought will cause serious harm to agriculture and animal husbandry, and will aggravate grassland degradation and desertification.

2. Drought will also worsen the ecological environment, leading to the decline of water levels in lakes and rivers.

3. Drought and water shortage will cause insufficient supply of surface water, and it is necessary to rely on the exploitation of groundwater.

4. Drought will also lead to grassland vegetation degradation, which is unfavorable to fragile ecosystems.

5. Warming and drying of the climate leads to natural disasters and forest or grassland fires.

6. Abnormal dry weather and continuous water shortage will affect this area and cause serious hydrological imbalance.
