He saw the essence of "Yi". "Zhouyi Xici Xizhuan" says, "If you are afraid of ending with the beginning, you must be blameless. This is called the way of Yi." As long as you are alive, as long as your eyes are not closed, you will always make mistakes, no matter how big or small. The state of being blameless is not not making mistakes, but precisely being able to reflect on and correct them in a timely manner after making mistakes.
"Zuo Zhuan" says, who has no fault? If you can change your past, there is no greater good. Confucius praised his beloved disciple Yan Hui: "Don't express your anger and never make mistakes." Not making mistakes means not repeating mistakes and being good at correcting your mistakes. "Book of Changes" also says, "Those who are shaken without blame have only regrets." To achieve a state of no guilt, one must be good at reflection and repentance, as Zeng Zi said, "Examine myself three times a day." Reflection and repentance are the prerequisite for correction. It is impossible for a person to truly realize his own mistakes and not know how to correct them if he reflects and regrets in his heart.
