Legend has it that Ziwei Dou was invented by Chen Tuan (Chen Xiyi), an important figure in Taoism, around the Northern Song Dynasty. The predecessor of Ziwei Dou Shu is the "Eighteen Flying Stars". Dou Shu came into being slightly later than the Five Star Technique. It was about the same time as Ziping Technique (eight characters and four pillars) and was influenced by Indian astrology. There are far fewer works on Dou Shu in the past dynasties than Bazi. Therefore, the origin and inheritance of Dou Shu are not clear due to the lack of data.
Nowadays, this academic field has been recognized by most people. You can search it online and you will know how popular it is. It is relatively easy to understand.
