Why is Tsinghua called "Shuimu Tsinghua"?

Tsinghua University is called Shuimu Tsinghua for two reasons:

The lotus pond of Shuimu Tsinghua is one of the two lakes and one river in the Tsinghua Garden water system (Shuimu Tsinghua Lotus Pond, Jinchun Garden Lotus Pond and Wanquan River). The ancient building on the south side of the lotus pond was originally the back building of the Gongzi Hall and the main corridor of "Shui Mu Qing Hua". Emperor Xianfeng ascended the throne. Later, borrowing from Emperor Qianlong's inscription here 99 years ago, the Gongzi Hall was named "Tsinghua Garden", and Tsinghua Garden got its name.

The landscape designers of Shuimu Tsinghua University are unique in that they surround a clear water with mountains and forests. Two elegant ancient pavilions are hidden between the mountains and rivers. In one of the pavilions hangs the bell with the Tsinghua emblem.
