Ji Gu Junye, born on September 11, 1969 in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, South Korea, is a Korean singer and a member of the Gulong group. In 1990, Gu Junye and Jiang Yuanlai became the backup dancers of singer Sun Jinying and formed a group called "Sun Jinying and Dowado", but they were the exclusive backup dancers in the group. In 1993, Gu Junye and singer Zhuo Li formed a group called "Zhuo Jun Er". In 1996, Koo Junye and Kang Won were discovered by Korean musician Kim Chang-hwan and formed the group Cool Dragon. They debuted with the song "Kungtari Shabara", which was later included in the group's first album "Are You Ready?" "In June 1997, the group released their second album "One More Time". On March 27, 1999, the band released its third album "Let's Funk Together". On April 6, 2000, the group released its fourth album "New World". Later, due to member Jiang Yuanlai's serious car accident, which left the lower body of the group paralyzed, the group suspended its activities. In 2003, Koo Junye started solo activities with DJ Koo and released his solo album KooJunYup. In 2005, the group released their fifth album "Victory". In 2008, Gu Junye released his personal EP "I am DJ Koo".
