How to slow down and stop skiing

First, deceleration when going downhill.

Sometimes it is necessary to slow down when going downhill. When the downhill speed exceeds the skier's adaptability and control ability, it is very dangerous and needs to be slowed down.

Downhill deceleration should adopt different technical methods according to taxi speed and slope. On high-speed steep slopes, only double-plate parallel continuous turning technology can be used to slow down one by one.

Second, stop when going downhill.

1. Before stopping downhill, there must be a braking and deceleration process, which may be sudden braking or slow braking.

2. Specific ways to stop

(1) Stop naturally. The terminal area is flat and open, and it can stop naturally when there is flat ground or reverse slope.

(2) When parking at a slow speed (gentle slope), increase the separation angle of the two skis, strengthen the vertical edge, straighten your legs, board the skis with your inner feet, and board the skis with your heels if necessary.

(3) During fast driving, stop around the mountain by using the sharp turn technology. Before stopping, slow down with a double-plate parallel turn, and finally stop with a sharp turn around the mountain.

(4) The most common way for beginners to slow down and stop is plowing, which is simple, stable and safe. Middle and senior skiers often use double-board parallel turning technology, which can stop in a fast way.
