Common diseases of pigeons and their prevention and treatment?

In our daily pigeon breeding, we will inevitably encounter some common diseases, large and small, which will make you have a headache. As the saying goes, illness comes like a mountain. Looking at the sick pigeons, the pigeon friends were extremely distressed and at a loss. Through the introduction in the book, combined with my own experience, I wrote it down and shared it with pigeon lovers.

1. Trichomonas

Symptoms: listlessness, shrinking eyes, dozing off, swollen eyelids, yellow gum in the corner of eyes, yellow sticky liquid coming out of nostrils, sticky things like corn paste in the mouth, and green feces.

Treatment: find the right prescription, use a quarter of metronidazole, and feed it for two days in the morning and evening, or metronidazole, one and a half tablets at a time, and it will almost be fine in three days.

2. Oral yellow disease

Symptoms: Pigeons have yellow lumps and yellow sticky substances in their mouths, which will affect their health and even die in severe cases.

Treatment: First, clean the affected area with cotton ball, and then apply iodine or permanganate solution to the affected area, which is very effective and has no side effects.

Step 3 be harsh

Symptoms: When you are forced to move, you breathe with your mouth open, your voice is hoarse, and you can't make a sound slowly. Then you have difficulty breathing, your head and neck are stretched upward, and your appetite is reduced. When you have difficulty breathing, mucus enters the trachea, leading to tracheal obstruction and death.

Treatment: Effective treatment for acute hoarseness: Take Liushen Pill once in the morning and half a tablet each time, or use streptomycin sulfate to point the nose, with excellent effect.

4. Infectious rhinitis

Symptoms: sore eyes and face, watery secretions, watery tears at the initial stage, followed by cheese-like clots, red eyes, conjunctival redness, eye closure, old age, blindness or death.

Treatment: use gentamicin injection to nose, or use gentamicin sulfate to drink water for pigeons to drink freely.

Dear pigeon lovers, I hope the above treatments will help you, and I hope your beloved pigeons will recover soon. Pigeons might as well have a try.

Pigeons are so sick now that it is impossible to prevent them. The following solutions introduce the treatment of several common diseases:

First, the flu: the symptoms are runny nose, both nose and mouth. The sick pigeon is listless and inactive. Erythromycin and spiramycin have good therapeutic effects. Severe patients take one pill in the morning and one pill in the evening, and the symptoms disappear the next day. Just consolidate for two days. This disease is highly contagious, so we must be careful, and it is best to diminish inflammation in the whole house.

Second, one eye catches a cold: the symptoms are tears in one eye, and pigeons are listless and do not like activities. Erythromycin and spiramycin have good therapeutic effects. Severe patients take one pill in the morning and one pill in the evening, and the symptoms disappear the next day, so it will be fine to consolidate for two days. This disease is highly contagious, so be careful. Early detection and treatment are faster. If the pigeon's lower eyelid can't be opened, it is a precursor to illness. Once a day, one pill at a time can be cured in two days.

The transmission route of the last two cases is mostly sparrows, so be extra careful, followed by sick pigeons.

Third, pigeon aphtha (long yellow): clean the yellow with tweezers and feed anti-inflammatory drugs for two days. It is best to check it again the next day, and clean it up if there is any until the symptoms recover. Pigeons are more sick, and pigeon houses are also prone to this disease. Long-term feeding of wheat will produce ergot poisoning and the mouth will grow yellow. Better not feed it. The mental state of sick pigeons is similar to the above two situations.

Fourth, pigeon pox: the route of transmission is mosquito bites and pecking. The symptom is skin swelling, which will gradually become acne, and the longer the light yellow is, the bigger it will be. Adult pigeons are mainly eyelids, ears, legs and feet. In addition to these places, young pigeons will grow mouths, noses, wings and anus. It should be treated immediately after it turns yellow. The smaller, the easier it is to treat. The method is simple. Clean up the acne with tweezers until you see red meat and sprinkle salt on its surface. If it is swollen the next day, clean it up again according to the above method, or you can feed anti-inflammatory drugs for one or two days, and one pill a day will cure it!
