What does benevolence mean?

There are usually four explanations for the meaning of benevolence:

1, ren.

2, honorific, used to address each other.

3. Last name.

4. Most of the soft parts of the core or shell can be eaten.

Ren, as a common Chinese word (first-class word), is pronounced as rén in most cases, which is a cognitive word and first appeared in Hou Ma Meng Shu at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. The original intention is to be friendly to people and blind to people; Later, it developed into a moral category with wide meanings, such as "benevolence" and "benevolent politics" advocated by Confucianism.

Judging from the ancient written materials, the word "benevolence" first appeared in the works at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period. In the past, it was once thought that there was a word "benevolence" in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, but it was misunderstood by scholars after textual research. In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the form of the word "benevolence" was from corpse to heart, except for body sound and human voice. Qin bamboo slips are people-oriented, using Shuowen as seal script, which was inherited by Li and Kai.

Later, it developed into a moral category with wide meanings, such as "benevolence" and "benevolent politics" advocated by Confucianism.

"Benevolence" is the most basic character of human beings. Only the benevolent can be objective and fair, like the real good people and hate the real evil people (The Analects of Confucius, Liren).
