Yunmen Yan Wen
The cloud gate is steep and the white clouds are low, so fish dare not be born in water.
If you know what you are doing at home, why keep mud [1]?

Yunmen Mountain is so majestic.
It seems that the white clouds are getting lower and lower.
The current here is too fast.
So fish dare not live here.
As soon as you Zen people walk in the door,
Every movement, every look
It will reveal your true situation.
Why are you talking nonsense?
Analysis and appreciation
This poem has allusions. Lang Shangzuo, a monk who is good at giving lectures, heard that someone asked Yan Wen, the Zen master of Yunmen, "Please say something that can enlighten people!" "Yunmen Yan Wen said," Hide in the Beidou. " He thought about it, but he couldn't understand the secret of this sentence, so he went to Yunmen to visit Yan Wen.
As soon as Yunmen saw it, he immediately grabbed his chest and said, "Go!"
Lang Shangzuo was thinking about how to answer, but was pushed away by the cloud gate, meaning, "Can truth be obtained through thinking?" Then, Yunmen wrote this poem to him, and now he understands!
The key lies in the deeper meaning of "learning from others".
As soon as we saw the hot springs bubbling out, we knew that there was a hot molten rock core deep in the center of the earth; Seeing that the height of Polaris changes with latitude, we know that the earth is round. Similarly, from a high level, as soon as we see "how things are at four o'clock, how things are born", we know that there is a mysterious operation of Buddhism behind everything.
Lang Shangzuo was inspired by the secret of Cloud Gate Yan Wen and realized this silent mystery.
