How did Princess Dong 'e die?

Died of illness. In the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), Dong Eshi died in Chenggan Palace on August 19th at the age of 22. Dong Eshi is the favorite woman in the emperor shunzhi's life. After her death, she was made a queen and buried with the Qing Xiaoling Mausoleum. Posthumous title offered filial piety to Zhuang, proclaimed benevolence to Zhide, and paid homage to the queen (without the emperor posthumous title, she was the last queen in China who was independent from posthumous title).

On the third day after Dong Eshi's death, that is, August 2 1 day, Emperor Shunzhi told the Ministry of Rites: "The imperial concubine of Dong Eshi passed away on August 19, and the Queen Mother of Notre Dame gave a decree:' The imperial concubine has been in charge of internal affairs for a long time, and her virtue is well known, and her palace has become a fashion. I am deeply saddened by the death of Shu 'er and should be crowned as a queen to show my respect. "I accepted the kind words, especially the seal, together with posthumous title, and said,' Filial piety, Zhuang, Virtue, Wen Huiduan, to the Queen'. The ceremony should be held, and the Ministry will examine it in detail and discuss it quickly. "When courtiers proposed posthumous title," four words,no.. I still apologize for the absence of the word "heaven" and "saint" for the six characters, the eight characters and the cross. "Shunzhi wanted to put all 30 eunuchs and maids to death," lest the imperial concubine lack servants in other worlds ",and was later discouraged.

After Dong Eshi's death, Shunzhi withdrew from the court for four months. According to the etiquette, the time for the imperial concubine to die is only five days, which can't be surpassed in history of qing dynasty. In the seventeenth year of Shunzhi (1660), on August 27th, Zigong, the filial piety queen Dong Eshi, was moved from the palace to the Guande Hall in Jingshan for temporary safety. All the ministers who carried Zigong were second-and third-class ministers of the Eight Banners of Manchu Dynasty. This is unique in the Qing dynasty, not only at the funeral of the imperial concubine, but also at the funeral of the queen. After the filial piety queen Dong Eshi's Zigong moved to Jingshan, Shunzhi held a large-scale water and land Dojo for her, and invited 108 monks to chant Buddhist scriptures and pray for the dead. On the eighth day of October, the emperor shunzhi went to Shouchun Hall for the fifth time, which was the last seven days.
