How should newbies learn roller skating?

Let’s start from the basics

1. Learn to wear shoes

Wear the shoes firmly and comfortably to feel good when sliding, so that you can use your strength and maintain balance. The shoes you choose should be the right size, not too big. Don't use too much force when tying shoelaces. When you reach the upper hook, hang them layer by layer from bottom to top. This can protect the curve of your feet.

2. Learn to walk

Don’t rush to slide on your shoes for the first time, learn to walk first. The key is to bend your legs slightly, lean forward, and point the front of your feet outward about 15 degrees, forming an outward figure. Hold the guardrail with your hands and walk forward in small steps. At the beginning, the stride length should not be too large, about 10-20 cm. It is appropriate. After walking back and forth along the field for about 10 minutes, you can basically walk without holding on to the guardrail. After another 10 minutes of walking, you should be walking more smoothly. Remember, don’t try to slide before you learn to walk, otherwise you will easily fall.

3. Learn to glide

When you are walking smoothly, you can try to learn to glide. The key is to lean forward, alternately push your feet to the side and back, move the body's center of gravity left and right, bend your legs slightly, bend your waist slightly forward, swing your arms naturally, and look ahead. How about it? It feels like it's sliding forward. Well, as you continue to become more proficient, your speed will become faster and faster.

4. Learn to turn

Due to the centripetal force when turning, most friends do not dare to turn at first because of poor balance control. In fact,

The principle of turning in skating is the same as that of riding a bicycle, that is, you need to move your body inward first, then follow the heels, and the inner legs should be slightly bent.

5. Learn to slide forward with one foot

When you slide forward with both feet, try to extend the landing time of the moving foot, so that the time you can support the body with one foot will be longer. As your legs get longer and longer, your technique of gliding on one foot will be perfected. Because our roller skates have an automatic steering function, if you press left and right on the skates with the soles of your feet, the skates will automatically turn left and right. Therefore, you can steer freely with one foot.

6. Learn to slide sideways

Sliding sideways means sliding with one toe forward and the other toe backward. There are two steps to learn this movement: start with a T-step, then lift the heel of the back foot to follow, then use the T-step to exert force, then lift the heel of the back foot, and repeat in a cycle to slide forward. When you first learn to skate, you generally don’t dare to skate straight. You can first learn to spin in small circles on the floor, which is easier. After you become familiar with it, you can gradually increase the radius of the circle. When the radius is infinite, you are in a straight line. Glided. When you become more familiar with it, you will find that when your center of gravity moves behind you, you will turn sideways and backward.

7. Learn to slide backwards

The principle of backward sliding is the same as that of forward sliding, but the body posture is exactly the opposite. When starting, put your feet into a pigeon-toed position, push your feet outwards, and lean your body backward so that it will slide backwards. Then move your center of gravity to the left, lift your right heel and retract your right foot, then lift your right heel into a pigeon-toed posture, and then Use force. If you keep repeating this cycle, it will continue to slide backwards.

8. Learn to switch between various sliding movements

If you are more proficient in the above basic movements, you can practice switching between various movements. . For example: the front changes to the side, the side changes to the back, the front changes to the back, the back changes to the front, etc. The techniques are relatively simple and will not be introduced in detail here.

9. Learn to slide backwards on one foot

Stretch your arms flat, raise your back foot high, and slide one foot backwards on the floor. Isn’t this posture very graceful and unrestrained? Yes. When your feet slip, first learn to gently lift your left foot and slide only your right foot on the floor. Once you are familiar with it, slowly and continuously raise your left foot. Finally, you will lift it higher and higher. The posture becomes more and more graceful.

10. Learn to slow down when sliding backwards and sideways

When sliding backwards or sideways, just use the shoe brake in front of the shoe to rub the ground and it will slow down. This is easier to learn, so practice it a little. You will master it quickly.

11. Sliding and decelerating before learning

There are two common methods for decelerating before learning. One is to first turn sideways or reverse, and then lower the brake; the other is to use a T-shape to slow down. Step down the gate. The key to T-step descending the gate is to place the center of gravity of the body on the front foot, and the back foot is approximately perpendicular to the front foot, forming a T-shape. Gently rubbing the ground with the shoe wheel will slow down. This movement should be practiced slowly and gradually become more proficient. When the back foot can use more force, it will decelerate quickly.

12. Learn to turn 180 degrees

When you are sliding forward, your feet jump and it turns into a backward slide; when your feet jump and it turns into a forward slide, it is called a turn. Body 180 degrees. When practicing this movement, do it on the spot first, and then do the sliding exercise after you are familiar with it.

13. Learn single tricks

The so-called tricks are constantly changing the body into a certain posture while gliding. Including the posture of the legs, the posture of the arms and the postures of other parts of the body. With the rhythm of the music, the legs can change into different movements. Other parts should be in harmony with the legs. The body should be stretched as much as possible and the movements should be as elegant as possible. This will give people a sense of beauty.

14. Learning double tricks

The difficulty of double tricks lies in the organic cooperation of the two people. Generally, you need to choreograph the movements first, and then you can make beautiful and harmonious movements after diligent study and practice. .

15. Introduction to high-difficulty movements

Some difficult movements, such as spinning on one foot, lifting people overhead, and flying three and a half times in the air, are all done by professionals. Generally speaking, Ice skating enthusiasts should not blindly imitate to avoid unsafe factors.

16. Safety first

The learning of any movement must be safety first and step by step.
