What do the school emblems of Peking University and Tsinghua University mean?

The school emblem of Peking University consists of two seal characters "北大" arranged up and down. The "北" character forms two sideways portraits standing back to back, while the "big character" forms a front-standing portrait. The school emblem highlights a school-running philosophy, that is, the university should be "people-oriented".

The school emblem of Tsinghua University originated in 1914. Mr. Liang Qichao went to Tsinghua University to give a speech on the theme of "Gentleman". He used the two hexagrams "Qian" and "Kun" in "The Book of Changes" as "Heaven moves vigorously, and a gentleman strives for self-improvement." , "The terrain is good, and a gentleman should be virtuous" as the core content to encourage Tsinghua students to work hard and strive for success. Since then, the school has adopted this eight-character character as its motto and formulated its school emblem.
