Characters and deeds

There is such an ordinary rural woman in Changling County, Jilin. Whenever the public security organs encounter a criminal case, they almost always ask her to come to the scene to help solve the case. As long as she finds the footprints (footprints) left by the criminal suspect at the scene, she can identify the suspect's gender, age, body shape and walking characteristics. Based on these characteristics, the police can quickly determine the identity of the suspect.

This woman is Dong Yanzhen, who has inherited the "footprint tracking" passed down from her ancestors since she was a child. She began assisting the police in solving crimes at the age of 16. Public security bureaus in many places hired her as a criminal investigation technician, responsible for tracking and identifying footprints, and assisting the police in solving cases. Relying on her footprint tracking skills, Dong Yanzhen solved more than a thousand criminal cases of various sizes in Inner Mongolia and Jilin as a police co-op, and was hailed by the locals as the "Goddess Detective" among the people.

Family-inherited secret skills have repeatedly solved crimes

In June 1972, Dong Yanzhen was born in Nanliangzi Village, Shanzuizi Township, Wengniute Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. The Dong family has a unique unique skill passed down from family - ——Footprint tracking, grandfather Dong Shiyu is even more famous as the "Footprint Detective". According to tradition, this secret skill is passed down from male to female, and since her grandfather didn't teach it, Dong Yanzhen secretly figured it out. Once, after school, she drove the donkey to the back hill to graze. Back home, Xiao Yanzhen told her grandfather about her findings while riding a donkey: when the donkey is carrying a load, the hoof prints have a wide gap to the left and right, and a short gap to the front and back; when it is not carrying a load, the hoof prints have a narrow gap to the left and a long gap to the front and back. After hearing this, grandpa said approvingly: "Grandpa didn't want you to learn these things, but you are really good. I will accept you as my little apprentice!" In this way, when grandpa went to the scene of the crime again, he had an extra Little man, my grandfather carefully passed on his experience and skills to his granddaughter.

In the summer of 1988, an arson case occurred in Wangjia Village, Guangde Gong Town, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. More than 2,500 kilograms of newly harvested millet were burned. At that time, my grandfather had just undergone surgery and was unable to move, so he recommended his granddaughter to the criminal investigators who came to pick him up.

The 16-year-old Dong Yanzhen appeared alone at the scene for the first time. Because three days had passed since the incident, the arson scene had been destroyed. After more than two hours of observation, she found the footprints of two big-toed shoes more than ten meters away from the fire scene and determined that they were the footprints of the suspect. After some observation and comparison, she speculated that the person was 1.82 meters tall, male, slightly hunched, about 45 years old, and that the footprints were left when he twisted his body and threw things. She judged that the suspect stood here and ignited the container containing gasoline before throwing it into the grain stack. The police had doubts about Dong Yanzhen's judgment. When they found two wine bottles charred by the fire in the ashes of the fire scene, they admired Dong Yanzhen. Not far away, Dong Yanzhen discovered the footprints left by the suspect when he fled. Following these footprints, she chased him four or five miles outside the village to the suspect Li's home, where she found a pair of large-toe shoes. The police saw that Li was about 1.80 meters tall and slightly hunched over. When asked, his age was exactly 45 years old, which was exactly the same as Dong Yanzhen's on-site analysis.

In July 1990, Dong Yanzhen failed the college entrance examination, and her wish to apply for the public security academy was in vain. Two years later, she married Li Jincheng, a young man from the lead-zinc mine in Wutonghua Town.

Involved in the police industry and wrote books

After marriage, her husband worked in the mine, so Dong Yanzhen opened a canteen in the mining area. Only a month after opening, her department store was robbed, and several hundred yuan and a dozen cartons of cigarettes were stolen. Dong Yanzhen carefully inspected the scene, and based on the characteristics of the shoe prints, she chased him to the door of a farmer's house in Ping'an Village. She secretly noted the location and went to the mining area police station to report the case.

The news that "Old Li's daughter-in-law can look at footprints to solve crimes" spread in the mining area. After that, cases occurred in towns near and far, and Dong Yanzhen was invited to the scene.

In 1998, Dong Yanzhen was hired as a technician by the Public Security Department of Wutonghua Town Lead-Zinc Mine. Two years later, Wu Xumang, a footprint expert from the China Criminal Police Academy, heard about Dong Yanzhen's deeds while handling a case in Inner Mongolia. He suggested that she go to the China Criminal Police Academy to study trace inspection, and he was responsible for facilitating this matter. It was Dong Yanzhen's dream opportunity to enter the top university in the criminal investigation world, but she became worried when she heard that further studies would cost 4,000 yuan in tuition. Dong Yanzhen, who had always been reluctant to ask for help, mustered up the courage to propose the idea of ??borrowing money to study to the mine finance department. The financial staff asked the mine leaders for instructions, and the mine leaders were very supportive of Dong Yanzhen's idea. The moment she got the money, Dong Yanzhen cried with joy.

In July 2002, the one-year course ended. She is excellent in all subjects, and has also published highly practical technical papers such as "Application of Program Characteristics in Investigation and Solving Cases" and "Application of Programs to Track and Detect Peripheral Scenes" in the "People's Public Security News". Subsequently, Dong Yanzhen successfully obtained a college diploma issued by the China Criminal Police College.

Cracked strange cases and became a professor

With theoretical knowledge as a foundation, Dong Yanzhen is even more powerful and can solve cases more easily. The Public Security Bureau of Changling County, Jilin Province was attracted by Dong Yanzhen's legendary experience and invited her to serve as a technician in the criminal police squadron.

In March 2006, Changling police received a report that communication cables worth more than 30,000 yuan worth more than 30,000 yuan were stolen from the county Netcom Company in Ailianhua Village, Liushui Town. After Dong Yanzhen arrived at the scene, she quickly identified the footprints of the two suspects and concluded that the two suspects were male: one was about 32 years old, 1.68 meters tall, wearing yellow rubber shoes, with a medium build; the other was 1.72 meters tall Mi, slightly fat, about 30 years old, wearing travel shoes. Based on these clues, the police arrested two suspects three days later. Their appearance and height matched Dong Yanzhen’s analysis. Dong Yanzhen's reputation is growing, and police from other provinces also turn to her for help when they have difficult cases. Since then, Dong Yanzhen has been invited to Shaanxi, Anhui, Henan, Sichuan and other provinces to assist in solving crimes, and is known as the "Footprint Woman".

Due to Dong Yanzhen’s special talents in the field of footprint tracking, in March 2009, she was hired as a visiting professor by Jilin Provincial Public Security College. From a farm girl to a visiting professor in a university, Dong Yanzhen created another life legend with her own efforts. In April 2003, the Changling County Public Security Bureau hired Dong Yanzhen as a technician in the Criminal Police Squadron. At the beginning of 2006, Xiao Dong left the Changling County Public Security Bureau where he had worked for three years because the staffing problem had not been solved.

Experts who are well-known outside the province must "become apprentices"

On December 19, 2006, Yang Hongliang, a villager in Zibo City, Shandong Province, was killed. After on-site investigation, it was found that one person committed the crime, and one person was left at the scene. Take the dagger and extract 4 plaster footprints. Ten days later, the Zibo Municipal Public Security Bureau asked Jilin Province for help and invited Dong Yanzhen to the scene of the incident to help analyze and solve the case.

On December 30, 2006, Dong Yanzhen analyzed the plaster footprints extracted from the scene: the suspect was about 1.73 meters tall, about 28 years old, and slightly fat. In addition, this person walks straight with his feet splayed out, his left foot lands outside and his foot rises inward, and his right foot lands outside and rises inward. His body sways from side to side when walking. Based on the human shape and age range described by Dong Yanzhen, the local police arrested the suspect on December 31.

On December 18, 2006, Lu Lianying, a villager in Laiwu City, Shandong Province, was killed at home. Except for three complete footprints and two incomplete footprints, there were no valuable clues at the scene. The police invited Mr. Mei, a 72-year-old footprint expert from Shandong Province, to help solve the case, but there has been no progress in the case.

On December 23, 2006, the local police requested Dong Yanzhen to help solve the case. Dong Yanzhen analyzed the footprints left at the scene: the suspect was about 25 years old. When walking, his body leaned forward, his left shoulder was higher than his right shoulder, and his body swayed slightly from side to side. Based on this, he judged that the suspect was probably a perverted man. At about 11 o'clock on the 26th of that month, the suspect Sun was arrested. According to his account, the local police uncovered two murder and rape cases. Sun also confessed that he was abnormal. Mr. Mei praised Dong Yanzhen for solving two major cases in three days and said humorously: "This time I will become your teacher!"

Started on December 23, 2006 Within 7 days, Dong Yanzhen assisted the Shandong and Henan police to solve 4 major cases in a row and became famous outside the province. (Excerpted from the January 8, 2007 issue of the local media "New Culture News" in Changchun, Jilin)
