The Zaden family of Yangdian Dragon Lantern
67-year-old Yang Shuangqiao (20 1 1 year-old) is at the paper binding shop at No.51West Street, wearing reading glasses and lying on his desk as a "faucet". Slim bamboo strips and colorful paper were cleverly cut and pasted, and pairs of lifelike "Dragon Wings" were born. He told reporters that the knowledge of tying the dragon head lies in "Longkou", "Wing Zi" and "Dry Armor" (back). The faucet has a pair of wings, big and small. The big wing has 5 long-winged seedlings and 4 short-winged seedlings, and the small wing has 5 short-winged seedlings. He said that tying the faucet is a delicate work, and only one "dragon wing" is needed for a day or two. In the past, "dragon head" and "dragon tail" were made at the beginning of the first month of each year. On the first day of the first month, they worship the New Year in the morning and start working in the afternoon, often staying up late to catch up with their work. Now as long as he is free on weekdays, he is ready to make materials. From the age of 15, Yang Shuangqiao studied binding technology with his father Yang Jusheng. He cultivates land when he is busy and sticks lanterns in his spare time. His eldest brother and second brother Yang are famous experts in tying lanterns in the town. Now my nephew, Yang Yanan, has also inherited this craft, and a family of three generations has formed an indissoluble bond with Gao Long. Yang Shuangqiao tied lanterns in his hometown (Yangdian Town), and also tied lanterns in Zougang Town (Longtou and Longwei) with his nephew Yang Yanan. In fact, before Yang Shuangqiao tied the dragon lantern, his father Yang Jusheng (born in 1905, deceased) tied the dragon lantern at the age of 20, and his sons Yang and Yang Shuangqiao were only his first generation descendants. Yang Yanan, Yang Zhian and Yu Yang are the second generation. In addition, it is worth mentioning that there is a deaf-mute in Zhoujialou, in his twenties, who has been tying lanterns for this bay for many years, and may be the youngest lantern-tying master in Yangdian. Others don't tie lights in this bay, but entrust other bays to tie them. For example, the lights in Xiajiazhai are tied in Liujiazhai and the lights in Zhangjiafan are tied in Kejiabang.
