Wedding etiquette

1. Send betrothal gifts: Before the wedding, the man will go to the woman’s house to send betrothal gifts.

2. Bed setting: The night before the wedding, the woman will find a lucky man (parents are alive, children are filial, and the family is happy) to "install" the new bed in the new house.

3. Dowry: Before getting married, the bride will put the dowry prepared by her parents' family in a red leather box and take it to her husband's family the next day.

4. Combing her hair: The bride will ask a lucky elder to comb her hair.

5. Eating glutinous rice balls or dumplings: It means that you can get married successfully and be happy.

6. Welcoming: On the morning of the wedding, the man’s team will come to the woman’s house to pick up the bride. In order to successfully win the beauty, the groom must pass a series of intelligence and physical fitness tests, and must also give the woman a generous "opening red envelope".

7. Find red shoes: The groom must find the red shoes for the bride and put them on her before he can take the bride away.

8. Tea ceremony: The newlyweds offer tea to their parents and kneel down.

9. Hold a red umbrella: The bridesmaid should hold a red umbrella to accompany the bride and groom when they go out, and throw rice to the chickens while walking to prevent the chickens from pecking the bride.

10. Detour around the auspicious road: The car that welcomes the bride must go around the road with an auspicious name.

11. Passing through the door: The bride leaves the bride’s family and formally enters the groom’s family to meet the aunt and other elders of the groom.

12. Having fun in the bridal chamber: After the banquet, the couple and some friends will go to the new house to visit or have entertainment activities.

13. Returning home: It means that on the third day after the wedding (customs vary from place to place), the bride is accompanied by her husband and prepares gifts and returns to her natal home.
