There is a difference. The full name of the Bayi Military Sports Brigade is the Military Sports Brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It is one of the competitive sports training bases of the People's Liberation Army. The Bayi Sports Work Brigade, the full name of the Bayi Sports Work Brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, is a division-level unit managed by the Military Sports Training Center of the Training Management Department of the Central Military Commission.
The Bayi Military Sports Brigade has five teams including shooting, military pentathlon, modern equestrian pentathlon, fencing and triathlon (including bicycle events). Its responsibility is to "win championships, set records, raise the national flag, and play the national anthem" in domestic and international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Military World Games, Asian Games, and National Games, and strive for honor for the country and the army.
The Bayi Engineering Brigade was formerly the "combat basketball team" of the 120th Division led by Marshal He Long and was established in 1951. The brigade has basketball, volleyball, track and field, table tennis, weightlifting, gymnastics, beach volleyball, swimming and other sports teams.
