Different objects: Anyone can convert, but people with disabilities, people who have committed serious crimes, and people who have violated national laws , people with foreign debts, people whose parents do not agree to become a monk, people who are married, etc. cannot be ordained as a monk;
Different responsibilities: Converting to Buddhism only means finding a home. After converting to the Three Jewels, you are still a layperson. The task of family members is to protect the Three Jewels, and to protect the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha is the practice of lay people. The responsibility of monks is to practice, solemnize the Buddha's kingdom, and save all sentient beings;
The results are different: after taking refuge, you become a lay person, and after being ordained, you become a monk;
