(1) The goddess Miao and the female emperor

It is said that there was a pair of goddess sisters in Xuanhua Mansion in the Tang Dynasty. The elder sister is thirteen years old and the younger sister is only nine years old. The two sisters are extremely smart, capable of poetry and good dialogue. One day, the empress Wu Zetian, who loved talent and literature, sent an order to interview the child prodigy. When the two sisters came to the Jinluan Hall, they couldn't help but look around, finding something new and strange everywhere. When Empress Wu saw their clever and childish expressions, she had already been a little fond of them. To prevent them from being afraid, she ordered the palace ceremony to be removed, and kindly held their little hands and walked towards the corridor beside the palace. They came to the bank of the river near the Buddha Hall and saw a monk picking lotus flowers in the river. Empress Wu said to her sister: "I will write a couplet with this title for you." Then she chanted:

Who would wear the lotus that the monk picked from the river?

This couplet uses "river, "He, He and He" are four homophonic words, which is quite difficult. The sister raised her eyes and looked around, and suddenly she heard the strings of Youle Hall playing harp strings and the sound of singing. The reason is the right way:

Play Qing'e's voice on Qing'e's piano strings

This couplet also uses the four homophonic words "Qing, Qin, Qing, Qing", expressing the sincere feelings. scene. Empress Wu was very happy to hear this. Then they passed a screen wall with a relief sculpture of a soldier on it. Wu Hou studied it for a moment, and then came out with another couplet to ask the little sister to answer:

The frozen chariot soldiers smashed the ice and the ice shattered the chariot movement

I saw the nine-year-old little baby blinked three times. Then he wrote the upper and lower couplets:

The dragon is crouching, the dragon is booming, the dragon is booming, and the dragon is rising

When Empress Wu heard this, she unconsciously praised her and said, "You are a child prodigy." Because he thought: Since ancient times, Anbang and Dingguo have mostly been men. If smart girls like this can be carefully nurtured, they will definitely become heroines in the future. So he hugged the little girl and said, "You are talented and clever. If you are guided by a famous teacher, you can become a great hero." I want to stay in your palace for further study, I wonder if you are willing?" The little sister was startled, her face was gloomy, she looked at her elder sister, and immediately lowered her head and said nothing. My sister looked panicked and couldn't reply for a long time. Empress Wu said: "No need to hesitate, you can immediately compose a poem to say goodbye to my sister."

With tears in her eyes, the little sister looked up to the sky and immediately composed a poem:

Sky Clouds Suddenly, swan geese fly together.

The people who complain are like wild geese, and they are not allowed to return together.

When Su Dongpo saw it, he said: "Interesting, interesting!" Listen to the Buddha's Seal:

No one can become a Buddha even if he was once a monk.

Seeing that Foyin was making fun of himself, how could he be willing to admit defeat? After some thinking, he finally came to terms with this split word couplet. I wrote it out and gave it to Dongpo. After reading it, Su Xiaomei gave it to Su Xiaomei. Su Xiaomei read it and said:

A woman is humbled as a maid, and a woman can be called a slave.

One day, Su Xiaomei was reciting poems against Su Dongpo. Unexpectedly, Foyin came in, and she hurriedly hid in the tent. When Foyin saw this, he wrote a couplet:

A beautiful woman is sitting in a blue gauze tent, with peonies in a gauze cage.

The little girl thought: This monk is really annoying. The brother and sister were having an interesting conversation, but you broke them up and you still recited poems to tease me. Okay, wait until I reply and scold you. So, he recited:

(15) Master Diao was too sentimental

Once upon a time, a certain member of the imperial family had a daughter and a son, and the daughter was about to be married. My son is still young and studying in a private school. The teachers at that school were naughty and often left homework for the students and then went out to wander around. One day, he wrote a couplet to his students:

A guest came to the hall, awakening thousands of miles of spring dreams.

The student couldn't get along, so he asked his sister to help him, and the sister said:

It's all in vain to have no one to sleep on.

When the school teacher came back and asked, he knew that the sister and brother were right, so he thought that the young lady was interested in him, so he added:

Six feet of silk, three feet tied around the waist, Three feet down.

After looking at it, the lady wrote:

A quilt, half of which covers the body, and half of which is free.

When the private school teacher saw it, he thought that the young lady was undoubtedly interested in him, so he wanted to make a commitment to the young lady immediately. I wrote another couplet nakedly:

The wind is tight and the forest is dense, I asked the woodcutter where to start.

The young lady saw that the tutor had evil intentions and immediately reprimanded him sternly:

The mountains are high and the water is deep, so I advise the fisherman to turn back as soon as possible.

The private school teacher looked at it and felt a chill in his heart, but he did not give up and continued to insist on the couplet:

Peach, plum, apricot and plum, when will these flowers bloom?

The lady replied rudely:

Rice, wheat, millet and millet, this bastard is Mr. He.

At this point, the private school teacher had nothing to do, but he was always angry and unjust in his heart. Soon, he watched the young lady get married. A year later, the young lady gave birth to male twins and returned to her parents' home for the full moon. The master Diao came up to her, pointed at the twins and teased the young lady, saying:

Who is the first son, and which one is the second?

He was cured within three years. Nearly a thousand patients.

It is said that there is Pangjiazhuang in the west of Hangzhou. The owner of the village is named Pang Anshi. He likes to socialize, recite poems, and talk about the past and present. As a result, he had a close relationship with Su Dongpo. They often talked about poetry and discussed medicine together.

One day, Su Dongpo was sitting in his study reading medical books when the yamen servant outside came to report: "Your Majesty, Pang, a Chinese medicine doctor outside the mansion, is asking for a visit." Su Dongpo hurriedly said, "I'm welcome." Dr. Pang, led by the yamen servant, came to the door of the study. He raised his head and saw two new lanterns hanging beside the door. He couldn't help but become inspired by poetry and casually recited a couplet:

Lanterns, lanterns, lanterns, It turns out that the paper (citrus aurantium) shell only protects against the wind;

Su Dongpo just walked out the door. After listening to it, he pondered for a while and immediately understood it, and then continued the second line:

Drum stand, tangerine peel Can't knock half a beat (summer).

The two looked at each other, laughed, and walked into the backyard hand in hand. There was a small garden in the center of the yard. When Dr. Pang saw the lush green bamboos growing in the garden, he had an idea and exclaimed:

Light bamboo leaves are best for heat stroke;

Su Dongpo said casually Said:

Bupleurum is especially good for typhoid fever.

The two sat down by the garden. The yamen servant handed them fragrant tea, and they drank tea and chatted. They talked about famous poems and famous doctors, and also talked about medicine from couplets. They really met each other and became close friends. Suddenly, a breeze blew by, bringing with it the fragrance of flowers. Dr. Pang looked up and saw that the roses in the garden were in full bloom, charming and charming. He was moved by the scene and wrote another couplet:

The roses bloomed and the fragrance could be smelled for miles around;

Su Dongpo heard him recite another couplet and blurted out without thinking:

Wutongzi is big, take fifty or sixty pills a day.

Pang Anshi sat for a while, said goodbye, and casually wrote another couplet:

There are relatives everywhere in China, no matter where they were born or familiar.

Su Dongpo replied with a smile:

(17) How did Taofu come from

Couplets are also called Taofu, which is a myth that originated in ancient times. Legend has it that there is a mountain called Dushuo in the vast sea, and there is a big peach tree on the mountain. This peach tree covers the sky and the earth, with branches twisting for 3,000 miles. In the northeast, there is a place where peach branches are sparse, forming a gate called the "Ghost Gate". All the "ghosts" in the world come in and out from here and are inspected. There are two gods guarding the door here, one is called Tu (yin Shu, shū) and the other is named Yu Lei (yin Yuli, yùlì). They are two brothers who both have the ability to identify "good ghosts" and "evil ghosts". Whenever they saw "evil ghosts" who were unreasonable and specialized in causing harm to people, they would tie them up with reed ropes and feed them to tigers. Because these two brothers can help people exorcise ghosts and ward off evil spirits, it is said that since the time of the Yellow Emperor, people have nailed peach boards on their doors and painted images of the two gods. These are the door gods. Around the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period or earlier, some people no longer painted door gods and just wrote the names of the two gods on peach boards. But on one side there is one word "Te" and on the other side there are two words "Yulei", which is asymmetrical and unsightly, so just add the word "神" in front of it, and it becomes: Yulei Shen Tea

"Yulei; Shentu" can be regarded as the earliest pair of famous people (gods). This is the "Taofu". Its appearance is a crucial step in producing couplets. Later, auspicious words were used to replace the names of the two gods, and ordinary wooden boards (or red paper) were used to replace the peach boards, thus completing the evolution of the couplets. At this time, we got rid of the myths of the past and moved towards real life.

However, until today, people still call Spring Festival couplets (or couplets) Taofu; and the "story of Taofu" will probably never be finished!

(18) Divide the characters into pairs

Mo Xuanqing of the Tang Dynasty was from Fengchuan (now Fengkai, Guangdong). At the age of 17, he became the first number one scholar in Guangdong and Guangxi, and was known as one of the "Eight Great Talents in Lingnan". When he was 7 years old, he wrote a poem expressing his ambition:

There are many handsome men in the world, who can help the sage?

My Lingnan wind is no different from other birds.

So he is called a child prodigy.

There was a county magistrate named Liang who was passing by Fengchuan and wanted to see how "magical" this child prodigy was, so he went to Mo's house. As soon as someone shouted, "Master Liang is here!", Mo Xuanqing politely came out to greet him and gave him a big salute. Liang Zhixian asked: "Are you the famous Mo family son?" Mo Xuanqing replied: "Yes, sir." When the Zhixian heard this, I gave you a "famous son", and you "accepted" him without giving in at all. Then he wrote a first couplet and asked him:

How can a child on the 20th be called a big man?

This is a combination of the three characters "twenty", "日" and "大". "Mo". Mo Xuanqing thought to himself: It's not me who said "famous", why are you ridiculing me? That's right, the second line:

Three ounces of wood cannot become an official

This is to split the word "Liang" into "three" and "edge" (commercially speaking, "two" (vulgar writing), "wood". The county magistrate knew from this that the child was really smart, and told everyone he met that Mo Xuanqing was really "famous".

(19) Couple of Yue Tombs in West Lake

On January 27, 1142, Yue Fei was killed by Emperor Gaozong and Qin Hui on "unfounded" charges at the foot of Jiuqu City outside Qiantang Gate in Hangzhou. Near the Wuxian Shrine, Emperor Xiaozong of the Song Dynasty was buried at the foot of Qixialing with ceremony. This is the Yue Tomb on the edge of the West Lake. There is this couplet in front of Yue's tomb:

Good and evil have been the same as charcoal since ancient times.

Reputation and reputation are now judged as false and true.

This couplet clearly expresses the different attitudes of the people towards Yue Fei and Qin Hui.

Another couplet on both sides of the gate of the Yuewang Temple is:

The green mountains are fortunate to bury loyal bones,

White iron casts innocent ministers into sycophants.

It is said that this couplet was written by a woman named Xu. She expressed her respect for Yue Fei and her hatred for Qin Hui through personification and contrast.

(20) Teacher and student admiring the moon at night

Li Qunyu of the Tang Dynasty was a very famous talent. His poems had beautiful artistic conception. When he was a child, he was familiar with poems and books, and often spent time with his teacher. They recited poems together and made pairs. The teacher liked his smart and studious spirit very much and often gave him advice.

One day, the teacher and the student went out for a walk together. As they walked on the path under the bright moon, they heard the sound of temple bells in the distance. There are bamboo groves on both sides of the path. From time to time, bursts of flower fragrance float from the bamboo grove. In this quietness, the teacher is full of poetry and recites a couplet:

The wind blows and the bells sound among the flowers, which are fragrant and sweet. Xiang

Li Qunyu was also fascinated by the surrounding scenery. When he heard the teacher's couplet, he looked around and saw the bright moon's light as bright as water. Fireflies flew from time to time in the bamboo forests on both sides of the path. The light of fireflies It flickers on and off, disappearing and appearing, so he immediately said to him:

The moon shines brightly on the bamboo bank of the firefly lamp, bright and cool

The couplet of the upper and lower sentences cleverly makes the moon shine down. The scenery is painted so that people feel like they are there. It is really a wonderful picture.
