Etiquette of eating western food in China

The knife is on the right side of the plate, the fork is on the left and the spoon is in front. When in use, hold the knife in your right hand and the fork in your left hand. If the guest doesn't order soup, the spoon can be removed. When eating, knives and forks are placed on both sides of the plate to show that you are full.

In western food, the placement of knives and forks is also meaningful, and your dining wishes can be conveyed through the placement of knives and forks:

1. I haven't finished eating: the plate is gone. If you want to continue eating, open the knife and fork in a triangle, then the waiter won't take your plate away.

I'm finished: you can put the knife and fork on the same side of the plate in parallel. At this time, even if there is something left on your plate, the waiter will know that you have finished eating and will take the plate away at the right time.

Please give me some more food: the plate is empty, but you still want to eat. Open the knife and fork in a figure of eight, and the waiter will give you more food.

Note: only applicable to parties that allow extra meals or when eating dishes that may be added. If there is only one dish in each dish, there is no need to put the tableware like this.
