Secular people often think that converting to Buddhism is becoming a monk, which is a one-sided understanding. Converting to Buddhism can be understood as "I am willing to complete the ultimate concern for life according to the direction guided by the Buddha and various methods taught by the Buddha". Therefore, conversion to Buddhism is actually divided into two types:
One is "becoming a monk and learning Buddhism". The so-called "becoming a monk" is to leave and give up one's secular home, which is a big act of "one person gives up one thousand people and one person gives up one thousand people for fun". Since then, I have embarked on the long road of "not seeking my own happiness, but seeking all beings to get rid of their pain", asking myself to be single (not only not getting married, but also having lust for men and women)
-Narrator: Shifa Mona, translated into Chinese, means "woman who practices hair". This is because the Buddha considered that if a woman had a good relationship with her boyfriend before becoming a monk, if she got pregnant in a temple, it would damage the image of Buddhism. So I practiced in the temple for two years without shaving my head. On the one hand, I made sure that I was all right, on the other hand, I made a decision, so I had a transitional role, that is, becoming a monk. The Sanskrit name was Shifa Mona.
One is to learn Buddhism at home, observe precepts, be vegetarian or eat three golden meats; You can fall in love, get married and have children, which can be divided into two categories: men at home (Sanskrit called "Youpo Sai", commonly known as "male layman") and women at home (Sanskrit called "Youpo Yi", commonly known as "female layman"). So I belong to this category, and Fu, Pu Cunxin, Jet Li, Andy Lau, Zhang Guoli, Faye Wong and so on, all belong to this category!
—— The above seven types of Buddha disciples are collectively called "seven disciples"; In addition, there is another classification by gender: men become monks, women become monks, men stay at home, and women stay at home, collectively called "four disciples". So I call myself a Buddhist disciple, a superior girl among the "seven disciples" and a male monk among the "four disciples".
