The Jiutai Rural Commercial Bank team is a team belonging to the Jilin Siberian Tigers Club.
After the Jilin Siberian Tigers were promoted to Class A in 1988, on the basis of adhering to the typical northern style of play, they also learned from the southern team’s fast, flexible and accurate style of play. At the same time, it continues to introduce high-level domestic and foreign aid and actively enrich the team's overall combat effectiveness. So far, it has ranked among the top four in the CBA League A for four consecutive years and won third place in the league for two consecutive years.
The team emphasizes offensive and defensive balance, quick counterattacks, and its scoring ability and fast break success rate are always ahead of other participating teams in the league. The team is a combination of old and new, headed by "Tiger King" Sun Jun, assisted by veterans such as Li Aijun and Griegl. At the same time, in the league over the past few years, a number of young players such as Wang Bo, Du Jiang, Nie Jinqiang, and Zhao Anan have emerged. While they have made great personal progress, they have also brought a stronger impact to the team.
Team History
The Jilin Men’s Basketball Team was founded in 1956 and was once a veteran Class A team. The 1970s and 1980s were its heyday, with the team finishing fifth at the Fifth National Games in 1983, champion of the National Men's Basketball Championship in 1984, and third at the Sixth National Games in 1987. After entering the 1990s, the Jilin men's basketball team gradually declined. In 1995, it only finished 7th in the national quarter-finals, thus bidding farewell to the Class A ranks.
Since then, the Jilin team has been working hard to regain its glory and won the championship in the National Professional League in the 1996-1997 season. In the summer of 1998, he participated in League A and B and finished third, but failed to enter League A. However, due to the Air Force team withdrawing for some reason, the Jilin team took its place and returned to the A-A ranks. After two seasons of difficult relegation, the Jilin men's basketball team won its second spring. Due to the increasing maturity of local players and the continuous introduction of high-level domestic and foreign aid, the team's strength has been steadily improved, reaching the quarterfinals for six consecutive seasons.
