How are NFL teams named?

Chicago Bears–The team was named Staleys in 192, which was the name of a starch processing enterprise that sponsored them at that time. At that time, the team was located in Dekaat, Illinois, and was one of the founders of the American Professional Football Association. The team moved to Chicago in 1921 and changed its name to Chicago stahly. In 1922, APFA changed its name to the current National Football League (NFL), and the stahly team changed its name to the current Chicago Bears. The reason for the name change is that George Halas, the owner, head coach and general manager of the team, thinks that since rugby players are stronger than baseball players, the city's rugby team should be stronger than baseball teams like bears.
